Brian O'Driscoll's moment of genius against Ulster

This was from last season in the Magners League. Pure class shown by O'Driscoll.
Whether it was planned or not, its a good thing the winger didn't get in the way. Worked like a charm though. Brilliant.
It's also a pity it didn't produce a try.

It isn't a knock on. The ball has not touched the ground. It isnt a forward pass because, although he has technically 'passed' it to himself, passing is the act of throwing the ball to another player. It is basically the same as when someone juggles with the ball while running forward. the ball is going forward but it never touches the ground or passed to another player. Therefore play on.
And to the guy who says he found a loop hole in the laws - WHAT??? look at his reaction afterwards, it was clearly not planned and he didnt sit reading the RFU handbook before the game and thought 'oh, i'll try this to see if it happens.' The winger has clearly over run an inline run and O'driscoll has just been quick minded to realise the error and adjust.
