Matt Dunning's Drop Goal for the Waratahs
Matt Dunning is a prop from the Waratahs, who's also played for the Wallabies on numerous occasions. He's pretty much a tubby guy, but is quite talented. He's also known for getting in punchups in pubs, nightclubs, and even with his own teamates at times.
In this particular game the Waratahs needed to win the game by 2 tries to advance to the semi finals. In other words, they were meant to be keeping the ball in hand, not kicking.
Dunning apparently meant for the drop goal to miss, thus giving his team the penalty (which they'd use to score a try). However, he slotted it perfectly, and as a result lost the opportunity for scoring the try.
NSW won the game 25-14, but not by enough to get into the semi-finals.
Many in the team embarked on a 48-hour bender which saw Dunning break teamate Tuiavii's nose, crash tackle other players, harass a cab driver, and annoy members of the public. Quality.

HAha Typical matt dunning. Best wepon against the waratahs/wallibies. You know, if hes playing against you, ur guarnteed to have a steady stream of penalties coming your way. Fat loser lol

Hes a prop and he cant scrummage, tackle or run.He cant even miss a drop goal when hes supposed to... what can he do? FAT WASTER

sorry i'm an American (just a hint that i'm pretty ignorant of the finer points of the laws) who has only played rugby for two years... so can someone explain what the the laws would have given the Waratahs a penalty out of that play.

to anon, the waratahs had the penalty advantage, so by matt dunning missing the the drop goal they would have had no territorial or possesional advantage so it would go back to the penalty which they would use to score the try. obviously it didnt quite go to plan.

few things for the record1) he is infact a useless blob haha but i hope i can slot drop goals when i'm old and have a huge beer gut like him2)if he missed it and it landed short, without going out the back it count as using the advantage and play would continue3)even if he had have say kept it and ran for a highlight worthy try, they would still need another try after that to win by 2 tries4)that team has the ugliest scrum caps i think i've ever seen

i could forgive it all, he''s an international rugby player, it takes alot to come that far. but for heavens sake HE'S FAT! Andrew Sheridan totally destroyed him in their world cup encounter. go running much fatty?!

haha i couldnt believe this when i saw itwhy couldnt matt have done this against england in the quarter finals, might have put them throughit would have made up for the fact he cant scrummage

another reason why drop goals should be left to the knobs in the nothern hemisphere. we play to score tries. not play kicks.

makes me laugh everytime i see it.thats not meant to happen!whats the point of saying he is fat constantly on the comment page i mean wheres the benifit it just shows that you have to call someone something behind there back.he cant be a looser is he plays profesional rugby he has come a lot futher than i am predicting correct me if im wrong all of us. so use rugby dump to watch videos not talk trash about people.

Why did he do that??...Like you have to try land a dropgoal like that...he intended on landing it.
