sorry...i just saw the first comment on this post. what a ridiculous comment by benjamin. daises?? england won a world cup off the back of their hard nosed defence, the ability to starve the opposition of possession and a menacing pack of forward which surpassed all in world rugby. hardly daises. and yes johnson was choking corne..a deplorable act. no denying that. but have you conviently forgot how jonny wilkonson was cynically tackled very very late, causing him permanent injury. that was no pay back, just unadulterated cheating and violence. that match was a disgrace to south african rugby, something which i usually admire so highly having toured the country as a school boy. and how was it deserved!?...the 'daises' put down a huge tackle after a good chase and won the ball in the contact on the ground. in frustration he took a swipe at cohen..and as someone has remarked a pretty lame on at that. i have no doubt nowadys SA are a more physical, simply better side than england. but back then...we certainly were no daises thats for sure...

just a few points England won the wc, beat SA 50-3 that day, beat NZ in their own backyard which the nz papers said was "impossible", beat aus home and away won all the tests, and the only thing sa can do is give a nice bloke (ben c)a little slap- cheap shot or what benjamin?chris? Not best punch but Cohen didn't care (TCUP). I'm a big fan of South African rugby and even though i'm a Scot i have to say that what the Boks did on that day was completely out of hand. Some of the stuff they did on that day should never be seen again on a rugby pitch. They went out there to maim the English players. Simple fact is it was premeditated and Both Krige and Straueli the (then) coach have to take a large portion of the blame.

If England didnt keep composed that day, it would of turned into a mass brawl. South Africa did not turn up to play proper rugby that day. Thay came to beat England up.to the anon above me, u can just put ur name, not the the URL.

Really do not get why Fleck punched Cohen. If it was for no reason (I think that's completely false)a red card is in my mind.Disgraceful from Fleck.
