Don't boo Kaplan, he did the right thing. Boo Williams and the touch-judge. Kaplan is the best referee in the world.

Unfortunately seems to sum up standard of SH reffing. Watched the first test V France and Dickinson put in a shamefully biased performance. Couldn't belive what I was watching and turned off after 20 mins. Players will play to the limit. It's up to the refs and assistants to ensure fair play. Agree with comments that TMO should be more involved than at present.

Of course it is cheating, breaking the rules you know for the benefit of yourself and your team, cheating. It's appalling he got away with it. I live in NZ (Though currently in London) and I know for a fact that the kiwis would whinge, moan and complain for weeks about something like this if they were the receivers.They would attack the officials but also the the player. I wasn't in the country for the incident but I'm sure a very blind eye was turned to Mr. Williams shameful lack sportsmanship.

The fact of taking the chance, or any other team would try doesn't matter. Thy would be cheaters too. Makes me sick as a rugger. Bending the rules is one thing, BREAKING is a whole different matter.

Why didn't the Referee (Johnathan Kaplan)spot it?. The Blues take the lineout with another ball which is 100% against the rules!.Ali Williams is the player that caught the other ball,yes you take what you get but Kaplan should have spotted that!.

not a nice play I think. But you play the ball the way you can, the responsibles for making players follow the rules are the referees.Nobody complains when people step on each other when in the ruck, but complain about this!!! It sounds contraditory...

Rules are broken all the time in rugby. The guy took a chance and due to the touch judge being an idiot, or a spineless softie, it paid off. Yes it was breaking the rules, but it was hardly bad sportsmanship. That's like saying a flanker who breaks an occasional rule at the breakdown in the process of doing his job, disrupting play, is a bad sportsman.

Sure it was against the rules, but we play our game to the whistle, which in this case wasn't blown.

Same thing happened in the Ireland Wales game on Saturday and it ended up costing the Irish the game as they lost by 6(and Wales conveted the try that shouldnt have been)!

Poor lines man and poor refereeing, blatantly obvious that the ball went miles out. Same as on Saturday. I agree with playing the whistle but i just wish that the ref and "assistant refs" had the balls to go to the TMO on this since it directly lead to a try. I can't see fans from NZ or teams teams being objective about this if it happened to them and it lead to loosing the game.

i dont think this should have went to the TMO same as the incident at the weekend with wales and ireland. if we start going to the TMO about this when does it end? it will end up like american football with challenges being allowed and this boring stop start play which isnt what rugby union is about. refs are human they are going to make mistakes its funny how quickly people move to external factors on why they lost the game rather than the internal ones. ireland for example have been poor at best in this six nations yet its all going be about how the ref cheated them out of this one game. there should be a look at the ireland set up where they only managed to scrap past italy. granted italy beat france but thats not saying italy are a strong side more that they have played two teams playing poorly
