Tom Croft 60m winning try vs NZ Maori in the 2007 Churchill Cup

Tom Croft 60m winning try - Churchill Cup

There have been quite a few requests for this 60 meter match winning try by England Saxons replacement lock Tom Croft against the New Zealand Maori in the Churchill Cup.

Croft is a 1.98m youngster who weighs 104kg. He plays lock and can also play as a loose forward, as you can see by the great pace he showed here down the right wing.

It looks like he's coasting but as you can see, he outruns the Maori players.

Great try, not wanting to rain on his parade though but if you watch carefully, the outside centre chasing him gets cut up by the prop who misses with the tap tackle. Croft scored a similiar try against the Ospreys in the Powergen final too, hopefully that should come up here too.Dan

Great try but i have to agree; i THINK the ouside center would have had a better chance of tackling him if he wasn't cut off by the prop. Great try none the less.

The center didnt deserve to make the tackle if a prop cut him off anyways..good try though..i did the same thing back in april at the millfield rugby festival when the usa u17 team play romanias u17 team

I agree with comment #12. The prop actually covers back faster than the centre does! So the centre didn't deserve to make the tackle indeed. Good try.

tom croft plays open side not lock and hes the second fastest man in leicester tigers after tom varndell, whos being touted as faster than habana, so being slower than tom varndells not exactly an insult to a forward
