Richard Bands headclash with Richie McCaw
A few minutes into the 2005 Super 12 match between the Bulls and the Crusaders in Pretoria the Bulls are awarded a free kick for a Crusaders indiscretion. Richard Bands takes off at the Crusaders forward pack and meets Richie McCaw head on, literally. With a header that Peter Crouch would be proud of he connects with the All Black and Crusaders captain and knocks him out cold.
Purely accidental of course, but the collision ends up ending the game for McCaw who's lights out from the moment of impact. Luckily he wasn't seriously injured and was able to play again in the tournament.
As for Richard Bands, he probably felt a slight tickling sensation.

LOOOOOOOL!!!! that is funny! (also looked painful!) only funny cos McCaw wasnt seriously injured!!! just the way he drops like a tree!!! (please no one say anything like "you would do the same" or "id like to see you laughing after that" Etc etc!!!) Awesome video!!!

hahah damn look at the prop, he looks like he was really ready to go in for a hit, watch how he gave a lil jump b4 he hit richie..he prolly got the results he wanted :P

ooowww Looked like a fierce left uppercut.(?) too bad the play back missed that angle. Thankfully glad the outcome turned out well. all that's missing are little cartoon birdies circling ritchie's head.

Yeah, McCaw is so busy going for the poach, that he's standings straight up, getting ready to poach...All in the meantime, his teammates are doing the hard stuff, called tackling.Great to see McCaw suffer punishment just like every other player does. Especially considering the referees will never punish him.

Your comment has only a passing resemblance to reality so either you have no idea what a No. 7 does, no idea what Ritchie McCaw does, or - far more likely - are a AB hater with an axe to grind.Why don't you actually watch some games before you comment?
