Cliff Mytton shows us why you should always chase a penalty kick

Cliff Mytton shows us why you should always chase a penalty kick

I received a link to this interesting try from the 1998 Top14 Final between Stade Francais and Perpignan from a guy who was actually at the game ten years ago.

Legendary flyhalf Diego Dominguez's long range penalty kick hits the post and bounces back for Kiwi centre Cliff Mytton, who has followed up the kick like his school coach told him to.

A great example of hard work paying off. He would have chased kicks like this 100 times without anything happening from it. But the one time it really counts, in the final, his luck turns. Nice to see hard work rewarded.

Great work, so simple, yet so effective. The opponents probably weren't expecting him so quick. The shift from relieve to agony in mere seconds is something I would like to see.Oh yeah, whats that song thats playing at the end? Ive heard it before but I lost it over time and would like to have it back. Thanks in advance ;-)

That's awesome. Can we have some context? Score before/after, time, final score?

In fact it's really Perpignan. They used to play with blue jersey and they only changed it a few years ago.

great effort, right place at the right time, reasons liek this i always chase the kicks, this doesnt happen thoughfor the record even if he didnt score, it was their scrum at the 5m line due to the forward tap right to him by the opponent hahai agree that they were better without pinkand to the comment before me, thats why theres a "requests" section now mate

Fantastic try here by NZ centre Cliff Mytton. Sea-bass I agree with you,it was great work and I agree with RD,it is nice to see hard work rewarded. I hope we see more of that in the future!.As you can see Stade Francais flyhalf (one of my favourites)Diego Dominguez's 45m penalty kick hits the post (unlucky, they would have had 3 then)and bounces back(how fortunate!)for Cliff Mytton (NZ Centre).Well Done Stade!! you won the Top 14!!!.

USAP's second jersey is Blue nd white. THis is to represent several USAP players who died in WW1 in the service of France. The light blue and white is ment to reflect the uniform of the "Poilu" or french infantrymen and is worn as a tribute to their sacrifice in said war.
