Huge All Black defense rocks the Wallabies

Huge All Black defense rocks the Wallabies

There have been countless times in the past that spectacular, bone-jarring tackles have won matches. When such moments occur at the right time, they can lift a team to hang in there for a vital few more minutes or, if you look at it from the other perspective, big tackles can demoralize the opposition completely.

Even more demoralizing however, is when a big tackle is followed by another big tackle, and then another, and then another. When going backwards while on attack your options quickly narrow down to kicking the ball away.

Thankfully for the Australians, the kick is a good one, but nothing can take away from a truly tenacious All Black defensive display, as seen here in the Bledisloe Cup a couple of seasons back.

stick that video on in front of kids and tell them thats how to defendive seen defenses hold out for ten minutes of non stop pressure on a relatively constant line, but to push a team back consistently with over half a dozen tackles is beautiful.. the australians become demoralised right before your eyes, when the number 6 decides to carry and gets laid out my marshall haha!ahh makes me wonder whether i prefer watching the best attacking or the best defending... hmm?

for the best attacking you would have to go to the australian backline moves

One of the best displays of disciplined defence I have ever seen. Tacklers rolling away, no flopping over trying to kill the ball just brutal hit after hit. Great clip

This is what rugby is all about. Gaining the physical and mental edge on your opponents. All Blacks are the standard setters and grand masters of both attack and defence. Will they ever have the same strength in depth with players going overseas for better pay? I hope so.

I Prefer watching good defending with solid hits than trys, you get trys all the time but this, its something else, it just fills me with happiness to see textbook defending. This is hurting the attacking team more than it would if they were defending, because they're going nowhere.

the ab's are amazing in attack and defence but its a shame they usually bottle it in the world cup
