Nick Evans try vs the toothless Lions
Last years semi finalists winning wasn't a surprise, but the emphatic victory and the manner in which the Blues brushed aside the young Lions was impressive to say the least.
Training ground moves were executed to perfection as the Lions defence fell to pieces and at one stage the Blues were scoring at a point a minute.
This Nick Evans try was an example of the quality of the Blues handling, but also the disorganisation of the Lions' defensive patterns.
It's going to be a long season ahead for the Lions if they continue to perform like that. As for the Blues, I think it's a safe bet that they'll be there in the top 4 when the Super 14 Semis come around.

Great try, that score makes rugby look such a simple game :-) just pass and run pass and run.

Nick Evans has great speed and the development of this play with the ball being made available so close to the contact area, yet having opened up the defense makes this a great try. For individual effort, a little later in the match Nick Evans used his speed to carve open the defense from 2nd phase play.

I always like to see the Blues winning. Probably my favourite Super 14 team.I do wish I'd been able to see them play a few years back, though, with the killer backline they had going on. Caucau and Rokocoko on the wings, Howlett at fullback, Muliaina in the centre, and to top it all off Carlos Spencer at fly half? Yes please.

I've always enjoyed watching Evans play since he's quick and can also kick it about 760,000m
