Tonderai Chavhanga scores after just 48 seconds

Zimbabwean born flyer Tonderai Chavhanga got his name on the score sheet after only 48 seconds against the Force in Perth on Friday. The Stormers star was on the end of a neatly directed kick ahead from fullback Conrad Jantjies, who himself is having a very good season.

The try came from the kickoff, with a great take from the bearded Ross Skeate, and a few of phases of play that led up to Hooker supremo Schalk Britz taking the ball at pace at first receiver and igniting a great attacking move.

When you have speed to burn on the wing like the Stormers and Chavanga are blessed with, you've got to use it, and with this try they signalled their intent by bringing the rapid Chavhanga into the game as early as possible. And you don't get much earlier than 48 seconds.

Chavhanga scored again shortly before half time, and the Stormers went on to record a famous away victory, against an in from Force side that were expected to win at hime.

WOW!...and i went to the same highschool as this cat, almost forgot how fast he is. Imagine Tondi and Banana on the wings for the BOK's with back up's of JP and Nokwe, they might possibly have the quickest wings in rugga. Oh and please dont compare Tondi and Bryan, i think Tonderai is now doing what Bryan does...goes looking for the pill and once he has it...PEACE OUT...haha..and can we please go back to the old rules, these free kicks are killin me!

Is it just me or has Tonderai actually bulked up? I mean he was skinny before but now the dude looks jacked. Slightly off topic...but what are your guys thoughts on Mujati for BOK colors, think he's capable...i mean the dude is rock solid, or possibly a lil longer in SUPER14/Curry Cup before being annointed?Ryan -NJ- USA

Ryan in NJ, Mujati is coming along nicely. He's impressing a lot of people. One thing I would say though is that that's slightly off topic so perhaps sign up on the forum and we can discuss more it in more depth there?forum.rugbydump.comcheers bro

yo Dump! can u put up the try of the force scoring their first try, or second, in this game... i kinda forget, it was right off a line out on stormers 22 and its just goes down the line with that winger that looks like a tranie ( or atleast he does to me0 touching it down within inches, thanx! CLEVER IS THE GRRRREATEST!

he should replace j.p pieterson 4 the bok's 1st IV no.11 jersey. aussie and n.z wingers would not stop him and habana.

Tonderai has some serious gas! and i also noticed that his defence has improved by quite a bit...so ill go on the line here and say he "WILL" be part of the BOK squad this year.I do think JP is tougher to bring down coz of his size and running style.tough choices ahead for the bok coach :)

he's good but still not quite there (for boks 1sts) i think. jp and even ndungane are quick but they also have experience and great defence. if u watch the wales sa match of this year, jp sets up a lot of tries!!

That was a satisfying passage of rugby. I liked the way Schalk Burger popped his head out the maul to check all was ok with the world. He almost lit a cigar.
