Bryan Habana brilliance sets up Bulls try

Bryan Habana brilliance sets up Bulls try

Super 14 try scoring winner, World Cup top try scorer, and 2007 IRB Player of the Year. You really can't say enough about Bryan Habana. Widely considered to be the best winger in the world currently, he's already more than proved that he's worthy of that tag after some impeccable performances in this seasons Super 14.

After a shaky start which included an injured shoulder after going over for a try, Habana has come back with a bang and is really starting to hit his straps. Last weekend against the Blues the Bulls flyer was all over the park. On both defence and attack, Habana was everywhere.

Earlier today, against the Force, Habana continued his great form by scoring two tries and having a great game overall.

This try though, finished off by Bulls hooker Derick Kuun, is from the Blues match a week ago. Habana caught the ball with all the skill of a seasoned slips fielder, then from a standing start took off, rounded a couple of players and had the awareness to throw the pinpoint pass on the inside.

A great try, and just a small example of why he's one of the most exciting players in the game today. Not too many other playes around the world make a run and pass like that look so easy.

I think it's safe to say we'll be seeing a whole lot more of him this season.

The shear acceleration of that man never ceases to amaze me, incredible.

How, how, how, do you manage to accelerate that fast and then swerve past 2/3 defenders and NOT slow down!! What a player!! And the catch... Jeez, unreal!! Loved every second.

wat a player his acceleration is prety amazing.Little topic to discuss:Who would win in a race between Shane Willaims(Wales) Vicent Clerc(France) and Bryan Habana (South Africa)I'd say Habana then Williams would do u lot think??

As a massive shane williams fan, i have to say that i think in a full on race Habana and Clerc would beat him. over 40m dash. because his acceleration is i think the best in the world. Shane Williams. every time.As for this try Brian Habana makes the tough stuff look so so easy.

I think Chavanga would beat them all. Anyway, great skills from Habana, the catch was amazing, great speed and the final pass, which he makes look so easy...

Great catch and run, but the final pass surprised me... wingers dont often do that... Thats class

Eric... I think that's what earns him the label "Greatest Winger" of today.Yousef1400, I'd say Chavhanga would beat them all. But in that race, Habana would win! Although I think Williams would give him a run for his money!

he was facing a number 4...should be a safe sidestep for every winger! but anyways, good run.

I think Habana is great as a winger myself I look up to him. But he's really not that fast compared to American football players. I think if more African Americans played rugby instead of American football I think his speed would be just avg, but his skill is amazing.

haha has anyone noticed habana runs with his shoulders pretty high?he also has a very uncomfortable posture when hes at full speed.....anyway good burst of pace but he wasnt exactly against the fastest of people...the catch was the highlight for meohh and vincent clerc is overrated!!!!!!!!!!!

Man,I wonder if the Bulls would be much better this year is they didn't have Wynand Olivier and Odwa Ndungane on the pitch. Those guys are absolutely useless.Odwa seems to make some terrible decisions. When he gets tackled, he makes invariably poor decisions, such as body position.I have yet to see Olivier do anything Super14 worthy this season.JP Nel works his tail off though.

Vincent Clerc is not overrated, he's a try scoring machine. the best or second best winger in the six nations.

people really love williams dont they? haha.i think hes alright but i class him in the same category as robinson and robinson is better. (I am not english)as for olivier being useless? not really- may not score tries, but puts in the hard graft (prob a better defender than attacker). habana is unreal but really disappointed in bulls, they are a disgrace-havnt defended their title at all. loving the stormers at the moment, but its all about those durbs boys!!

chavanga is the fastest in the rugby world for 100m its proven by his time of something like 10.45and to hendrick who said habanas spead would be average if american football players played rugby, i dont agree one bit what nfl players can run the 100m that quick?

bob hayes ran 100m in 10.00, not much faster than habana, or chavanga..

i love the commentators comment after this clip, Bryan Habana worth the price of admission! He almost set up a couple more tries as well! as for comparisons with wingers over 100m? or 40m? those things aren't important in rugby, its the guy who can run fast 10 times in a match, not the one who runs the FASTEST the one and only race who matters, and i don't know about you guys, but with adrenaline and stuff in a game, i think they probably move faster in a game than in a straight race...just a thought!

williams is fast and has the best sidestep out of any of themhabana has pace but better defence because of size advantagechavanga is just incredibly fast and unstoppable at full speed down the wingthey all have their own little advantages.personally i think williams is better.but that's my opinion.you dont have to agree if you dont wanna.clerc has O.K. pace but can really swerve well.chavanga
