Jason Robinson dazzles France in 2002

Jason Robinson dazzles France in 2002

This classic try comes to us from the 2002 Six Nations game in Paris between England and France, in which the hosts took the honours by 20-15.

One of the highlights of the game though was this cracking try by Jason Robinson tha was a fine example of what a well balanced runner and deadly finisher he was in his prime.

A short clip, but well worth sharing.

NOTE: The video is down - we'll get it reposted asap.

Jason Robinson, the guy is an absolute legend. The most successful rugby player (in both codes) ever.

The most amazing part about it to me was that he wasn't that big of a guy. People ask me how I play rugby since I'm so short to. I just say look at Billy Whiz.

I love that try. It used to be amazing to be at Twickenham when Jase got the ball (much like when Shane gets the ball these days) and this buzz would pass round the stadium.Jase or Shane though? Two similar players, who was/is better?

will66 why'd you have to ask that for?all the welsh are gonna say shane and all the english are gonna say robinson and theyre both gonna claim they're neutral supporters of rugby

You have to pump for JR due to his late cross over to union (so therefore not as many opps as SW will get long term), the fact he has scored and won a world cup final and his better defence. Never saw that many people walk through JR...not that SW is a pisspoor defender, but not as strong for sure.Great step on that clip.

This guy was amazing, when he got on the ball the whole crowd rose to their feet knowing that he was about to do something mind boggling.Jason Robinson I think is the best fullback/winger most of us will ever see. Please can you get his try from the 2003 world cup final up?Cheers

sw will never be half the winger that robinson was, the side steps he does are amazing and the exeleration is just epic!

Tbh I think Shane is better(yes I'm Welsh) but Billy Whiz is the most full-back to grace a rugby field in a very, very long time.
