I still don't understand why he left the Brumbies when he was in such great form. Anyone seen him play more recently, for Stade Francais? I remember this guy. Great for the Brumbies and was seen to be the next big thing, he played only a few tests for Australia and then disappeared. I thought it was so impressive when he would jump in the line outs and catch the ball with one hand. Shame he left Australia when he was at the peak of his career.

I tell you what is nice about this is the way Sivivatu gives him a pat on the head for a great try. He knows he got burnt and appreciated it, great speed from the second row.

supreme athleticism! its a shame that players of this calibre are financially forced to chose to play a few tests for Australia (or NZ for that matter), which then disqualifies them from playing for their country of birth. imagine how strong a combined pacific islanders team would be with all of their players - including the ones snapped up early by the Wobblies and AB's!

awesome player! I wondered what happened to him too! He had a great year, bit of a destroyer, just in the Lauaki mold... As for the above comments, don't you remember the combined Pacific Islands team a few years back, almost beating Australia, South Africa and NZ? only losing by a few points...i don't know why they cancelled the concept, possibly, because with little or no training together, they almost defeated the three powerhouses of world rugby! and if they continued, than they would be the world's best team... fijian wingers, samoan front row, tongan second row, scary...haha! Lauaki played for them and was very effective...actually RD if you have any footage of these games i'd love to see them!

i remember hearing about the pacific islanders game vs the wallabies (an under strength side) last year or teh year before in adelaide and they either beat the wallabies or lost by a few points, but either way they absolutly smashed alot of players and injured quite a few from memory.... so thats prolly the reason it was canned, they hurt us - lol.

dis is radike samo from fiji islands. his from a town call nadi and a villiage call narewa.left his home town and villiage as a 21 year old fast winger and develope into a incredeble forward. and has reach the height of his carrier.in my uncles country or tribe or town, for us wearing a wallabies or brumbies jersey is a dream come true.playing super 12 was everything to young fijian dreamers but little old for it to come true is a gift from god himself.it proberly wasn't about staying cause it was his prime time but maybe it was the right time for my uncle to enjoy the rest of his rugby carrier.he didn't need to prove anything else to his fan's and importantly to his family back home in the tribe call narewa where he grew up.don't forget everyone that its about having fun and if it's not fun anymore than there's no point waisting your time.

@Sharky, he wasn't in great form when he left the Brumbies, he made the Wallabies in 2004 but they played him at blindside flanker and he didn't make the same runs in the few games they actually gave him, so they quickly dropped him. He got an injury and a little out of shape, he got hardly any game time for the brumbies to the point they weren't even putting him on the bench, so he left for overseas.

Someone said he was plagued by alcoholism when I asked why this bloke was not developed by the ARU. Is that correct? Did they not see his potential? It's absurd.
