Crusaders crowned Super 14 champions 2008

Crusaders crowned Super 14 champions 2008

The Canterbury Crusaders continued their dominance of southern hemisphere provincial rugby by securing their seventh Super title with a come from behind 20-12 win over the New South Wales Waratahs in Christchurch.

The Crusaders were down 3-12 late in the first half, but scored 17 unanswered points, largely thanks to the boot of All Blacks fly-half Dan Carter, who kicked four penalties and a drop goal for a personal tally of 15 points.

The Waratahs put in a brave performance but faltered on the big stage, allowing the experienced Crusaders to dominate in front of their home crowd, sending coach Robbie Deans, winger Caleb Ralph, and former captain Reuben Thorne out on a winning note.

This is just a quick montage from the game. In terms of short clips worth showing again, not too many to speak of. Lachlan Turner did score two great tries though so we may stick them up soon.

@Locker - Can't really agree, and this is coming as an Australian. The Crusaders were far too good in the second half - held the Tahs scoreless and completely dominated play, despite being one man up for a ten minute spell. They did outscore the Crusaders 2 tries to 1, but the Crusaders had the opportunity to score another 1 or 2 at the least, and would have done so but for a few individual blunders and a controversial refereeing decision. They quite simply had the best of the contest, and deserved to win.

still the tahs should be proud of what they achieved this season exspecially with their schoolboys backline and the very good pack!Expect some call ups for the Wallabys to head their way!

yeah - Crusaders all over the Tahs - the Tahs having the better highlights package .interesting to see if Deans was keeping an eye on some of the NSW squad ... doubt it - he still had a final to win .

yea, i agree but Lote isnt the fastest of wingers, hes a great winger and probably one of my favorite players, as an Australian. I just think that sometimes hes out of place on the field. Does Anyone know where to find some Australian rugby League Clips??? id appreciate it!! Cheers
