Best tries of the Top 14 - Round 4

Best tries of the Top 14 - Round 4

For those of you who enjoy catching up on the latest tries in the French Top 14, we've got another weekly wrap of the best ten, this time from Round 4.

Last time some of you guys weren't too impressed with the standard of tries unfortunately. This week the standard is elevated somewhat, as we see some great tries from all across the league. We think these clips are worth showing anyway, because some of you wouldn't be exposed to French rugby otherwise.

There's a handful of contenders, but at number one this week is a classic try by Montpellier against Montauban, scored on their way to their 32-10 win. The support play by French international flanker Fulgence Ouedraogo was superb, and he actually managed two tries on the day.

Enjoy the clip, and later today we'll have the best bits from the Help For Heroes match that was played at Twickenham over the weekend.

yeah, the chistera by Trinh-Duc is class, and Ouedraogo, classic open side support running...The Benjamin fall try is very nice too. The kid is like 20years old.

no 1 ceratinly one of the best i've seen this year

what about the other montpellier try, where Trinh-Duc finds the gap with an amazing flat pass. He's starting to show more and more signs of a class act, hopefully he'll get more time in the french jersey. Any news on Michalak yet, is he playing?

Excellent tries, has to be the best league in the world in my opinion.Does anyone know if Gavin Williams, scoring try number 3 in the Castres v Dax game is welsh?

yeah not to repeat myself over and over, but like Courrent, Trinh-Duc's got it... and him playing in a smaller squad is only good for his development, just as Biarritz's flyer... I'm getting worried for Elissalde's time on the pitch, with Michalak returning and skrela to play 10, as Kelleher is not going anywhere (and ever so rightly)... France surely has a bunch of 10s (and always has)

The top two tries (and one of the early tries from a kick return) were great, but there was a lot of filler from linebreak + draw and pass = try. It is a weekly round up, but I feel like I saw a greater number of high quality tries in the Canterbury and Wellington games of the ANZ NPC last week. It's all a matter of taste, I suppose.

why are there sooo many forward passes in the French league??Last highlights had 2 glaring ones. Admittedly this one has only 1 obvious one (no7) and a potential fp (could have been flat) in No3...No 1 was an absolute stunner though

No. 1 was well worth a look, but for me... watching these 10 tries I felt very underwhelmed. I guess anarchangel is right when he says its a matter of taste, but do people really think that "the Top14 is becoming the Premiership of the rugby world"?I see a lot of running straight and ball through the hands. Executed well, no doubt... but that's stuff we practice at the bottom rung of club level.- Granite (sorry, can't log in right now for some reason)

Sorry, i meant Premiership as in Players from around the globe are gonna be bought/sold/traded for vast (excessive?) revenue via European millionaires + no salary caps .ie. the Glamour league......but give me Counties beating Auckland any day ;1

It's French, so it's bad. That's apparently what some of you guys think, you're criticizing the Top14without giving any arguments. You're talking about forward passes, but really i didn't see any in this vid.It sounds like you don't want France to make (for once!)something well. French Top14 is becoming very classy, one of the best rugby championship in world, that's all, no need to talk and criticize like a child, just enjoy watching quality rugby.Le Clairvoyant

Look Mr anonymous, i never said it was French and therefore bad. I love french flair and thing their league (apart from the stupid amount of fights) is great. All i said was that there seem to be a few tries scored with forward passes involved, that's true.Don't believe me, check out the last round uphttp://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=-LMQuC4IPSI&eurl=http://rugbydump.blogspot.com/2008/09/best-tries-of-top-14-round-3.htmlWatch number 9. there are 2 forward passes in that try alone! The second is probably the most BLATANT fp I've EVER seen.
