Danny Cipriani on the couch
Barely 24 hours after Jonny Wilkinson picked up another unfortunate injury, Cipriani was running out for Wasps against Bath, his first game back since that fateful day back in May.
In this insightful ten minute long interview with the BBC's Gabby Logan, we get to hear first hand what makes Danny tick. He talks about what it felt like to look down and see his ankle facing the wrong direction, his subsequent recovery process, his relationship with Kelly Brook, and amongst other things, chocolate milk.
This interesting interview will hopefully give you a chance to better understand the young man who has talent in abundance, and by the look of it, the off field work ethic to match. Let's hope he can stay fit and focussed on the field, and keep a level head off it. If he doesn't, Josh Lewsey will no doubt be around to keep him in check.

yea, shame to see wilkinson injured again after finally regaining playing fitness. well, now cipriani has his opportunity to shine, so lets see what happens.

Good player, potentially great player. Only pity that thanks to him the WAG has made her entrance in rugby (Charlotte Church excluded) but it's none of my business (nor interest) who he shags.Hope he can spark some magic in the autumn tests and secure a Lions place. If he keeps on progressing I only see James Hook as a potential threat for him.Just heard he signed for Adidas. They probably think as well that the Wilkinson era is over.RD: Keep up the good work

Seems like a decent, humble, solid bloke. Why is it that 10's are more often like this than those in other positions? There are some notable exceptions, but Carter, Lynagh, O'Gara, Larkham, Bennett, Wilkinson, Jonathan Davies, Mehrtens etc, etc. all seem to be similar.

he's undoubtedly a very talented player who could well do great things but all this media attention seems a bit silly when you sit back and remember that he's only played in one full international against a pretty crap irish team (no offense). He's gonna be in a whole other league when he's up against the likes of south africa and the all blacks, and while I hope he does well, there's no guarantee. It seems a bit unfair for the media to be heaping so much pressure on the guy to meet all these insane expectations of him.as for JMH being the best fly-half in the world? I'd say he's certainly the best full-back, but the best fly-half has been Dan Carter for a while now by some distance.

Seems a bloke. He could well be the david Beckhem for England rugby (well Beckham at top form was a good player).Interview in his house reminds us he's like a common working folk, who go back home, tidy up his house and take care of himself :)Um...If he thought it could be it when he hurt his ankle, think of Wilko (pray Cip won't have to get through the same thing ever ;)

Met Johnny Wilkinson before, pure gentleman.Same cannot be said of O'Gara, up his own hole. but it matters not, he is a great player too

anonymous above, your not the first i heard that from!cipriani is just one of those players who does crazy things because hes young, so when he plays teams like SA and the likes of schalk burger are on his case he might buckle, thats why i hope johnson picks a steady 12. i would love to see wilkinson there although i think the england set up media and fans have basically discarded him which is a disgrace but thats the nature of the business. flutey could also do a good job in that position, although aside from those two, as much as a geraghty partnership may look brilliant, england will be lambs to the slaughter once more. cipriani didnt seem too arrogant in that interview seemed like an ok guy. however lewsey obviously took a dislike to him and hes a pretty old school guy, so dont know how johnson will react or treat cipriani when he gets up to his tricks!

we had the same craze over michalak in France. well, you know what happend, he's been good, but not that good. I sincerely hope that's not gonna happen to this young fella but it kinda doubt it

he's got loads of potential but no one can bother calling him the real deal until he does the job against the world's best. He's already managed to outplay O'Gara (who granted, isn't quite the player he once was), now it's time to see if he can measure himself up against the likes of Carter, Giteau, Hernandez, Beauxis, Hook, Jones, Michalak and others.

To bad for Wilko he was a good player . One day your a superstar the next you yesterdays news. It's funny how the media just throws you away like trash when you not the hot young thing. But any way good luck Cipriani.

Yup he has a wide open door to really show what he's made of. Hopefully he'll do really well as he will be the future of England.Although personally I think Jonny can still come back and shine too, hopefully making both of them better players.

On top form Carter and O'Gara are alot better than this kid. But if he stays normal and doesnt let all this shit go to his head he is one for the future.

I don't see any reason for Wilkinson's time to suddenly be over. Bar his injury troubles he's still an overall outstanding player, and recently seemed to be getting back to somewhere near his old form. Plus, he's still only 29, so he's gotta have a few good years left in him. I think the competition between the two will only be a good thing.

I'm not a big fan of current English rugby but I am a fan of great players. Whether Cipriani makes the grade internationally remains to be seen but at the moment I think he'll be going flat out just to live up to half the hype. Good luck to him.

to bartyou mentioned hook being a threat to cipriani's lions hopesi think hook is not really a threat to ciprianiim welshi should stick up for a fellow taff but tbh, cipriani is pure talenti think with experience in top class rugby he could outshine dan carter in timepray that lightning doesnt strike twice and his injuries stay minimal

i disagree with jordan, im also welsh but i dont think that cipriani could EVER 'outshine' Carter..and as for hook, hes playing better than cipriani is now, but cipriani wil take time to find his form, then wiothout a doubt he will make hook look like the average number 10

Very good player although cocky. As for Dan Carter being the best 10, dont think so, remember the world cup? Wilkinsons the man.

was there at that game i couldnt belive what was going on i honestly thought that he would never play again but hes up an playing for the wasps and hopefully we will have a succesfull season it is a shame about wilkinson i hope danny see this as an oppertunity to ansaw the criticts and i belive he will
