Cardiff Blues thump Gloucester to win the EDF Energy Cup
Young Welsh winger Leigh Halfpenny scored two tries, and Tom James a third, as the Blues raced to a 22-5 half time lead.
Two second half tries from Ben Blair, a breakaway score by Ceri Sweeney, and Tom Shanklins converted effort all contributed to bringing up the half century as Gloucester couldnt cope with the Blues confident game.
Gloucester scored a first half try from Mark Foster, as well as a late penalty try, but they werent in the match as Cardiff dominated, continuing their fine form after their impressive win over Toulouse in the Heineken Cup last weekend.
Martin Williams put in another Man of the Match performance, and Halfpenny and Shanklin made further claims for Lions honours, as head coach Ian McGeechan and his assistant Shaun Edwards were in the crowd.
In unfortunate news, Jason Spice has played his last game for the Blues as he broke his arm and will be out for the rest of the season. He was injured in the second minute of the game, and will be leaving in the summer for Bristol.

Gloucester needs some new players, and they need to get a decent flyhalf. I think Lamb is a spoiled brat, and he's not good enough. The way he took Blair out without the ball was just pathetic.
Cardiff played some awesome rugby though, and truly deserved to win. The match against Leicester should be a cracker!

Gloucester are perennial bottlers anyway. If your team faces them in a final, or big match, then you have got to be quite confident that you'll come out on top.
The Blues V Tigers match should indeed be an absolute stormer of a match. If it ends up like the Blues Toulouse match I'll be very disappointed. But I can't see that happening, as the backlines are just too potent. Can't wait for Williams V Croft. Reckon they'll be on the plane to SA with the Lions.

We just need accepted support from the valleys, and we'll have not only a good team but better support!
Can't wait for the leicester game, it's almost sold out i think.
Oh, and to the Gloucester fans, you're having nicky next season i believe? You're lucky.. on some days he is the best 10 in Wales. However, on others he is the worst.. :P
But anything would be an improvement to that Lamb kiddo..
Good luck anyway.

And to the anonymous about support from the valleys, as a pontypridd supporter, you best not hold your breath. I wont go into this though as i'm sure you know the reasons for it.
