Aurelien Rougerie tribute ahead of the Top 14 Final
Its the first time these two sides have ever met in the final, with the fans from both sides on a high as the 80 000 seater arena was sold out in less than two hours.
Perpignan had disappointment early on in the season, losing their big signing Dan Carter to injury after just five games, but they showed tremendous resolve to get over that and have since topped the table of the championship.
Clermont will possibly be favourites for the match though, as they possess supreme strike power out wide in the form of Napolioni Nalaga, and one of world rugbys form flyhalfs at the moment, Brock James.
In a leader they have the inspiring Aurelien Rougerie, a man who leads from the front and has shown his class whenever he pulls on the famous yellow jersey.
An injury hampered his progress for a large part of the season, but he is back and his size and class make him one to watch tomorrow.
We have this excellent tribute to the man whose silky running and powerful play that has made him a fan favourite and a Clermont legend.
Anyone care to make a prediction for the final?

This game is going to be a real war, both team are really hungry. I think James is going to be the key as the rest of the team are pretty equal

Tough, the teams are evenly matched in the forwards, but perhaps the more accurate kicking game by James and Baby(wether it be for touch or posts) will win it for Clermont, who really do deserve it.

Great player - good to see him back after that nasty injury a couple of seasons ago.
He should be still in the French set-up in my opinion. Best of luck to Clermont, I think they deserve it......

rougerie will play his part in the french sides summer test after 2008 SNations and he always deserved!! as a toulouse fan i would like to see clermont win this year!! after a moderate start they did a wonderful comeback in the final stages!!!So al les jaunards!!vous le meritez

Good video Guetteba, Rougerire's a sap thoughh, I really dislike him, he sued someone for injuring him after he got handed off in the throat. Won about 30,000 in damages. Faggot. Nice player, but an absolute ladyboy.

U can like or dislike one player, but if u take count of Rougerie past injury. In fact, it was a real agression from will greenning, which could have stopped his career.
Furthermore, it was the club and not the player which pursued greenning. But I agree that it's an opened door to many other accidents.

Love watching AR14 play. Really classy runner and a real good video to show that. Why he isnt pulling on a blue jersey for france though is beyond me.

Flooz, when you decide to play rugby you accept the risk of injury that comes with game. Getting handed off is part and parcel of the game and I doubt Greening meant to injure him when he did it. It's pretty pathetic to sue a fellow professional unless the cnduct is something like stamping n the head or other outrageous conduct that causes injury.

rougerie's attacking skills are obvious, but the reason for which he hasnt worn a france jersey, was his defence, whiwh was way too sloppy for test rugby (according to bernanrd laporte) but it appears he has been working on it and will fight for a wing jersey on tour to NZ and AUS with the frenchies
otherwise, both teams deserve the title, they both had a very regular season.
