Air New Zealand Cup - Rounds 9, 10, 11, & 12 - Tries Mix
It's not always easy keeping up as it happens, so we've got this great compilation video which highlights some of the best moments from the past few weeks.
As you'll see, it's pretty much the Zac Guildford show, with guest appearances by Ben Smith and Israel Dagg. These are the new boys of New Zealand rugby, and you'll see exactly why the likes of flyers Guildford and Smith have been called up for the All Blacks end of year tour.
Guildford scored two hat-tricks in two weeks recently, so some of those tries are included, as well as great individual tries from Sam Whitelock (the galloping lock for Canterbury), Manawatu's Kurt Baker, and Counties Manakau's Tim Nanai Williams.
We've also thrown in some sights and sounds from the tournament, a huge hit to keep you interested, and a couple of pretty blondes. Enjoy.
Time: 05:19
Music : Knights of Cydonia by Muse
Try-scorers in order: Sean Maitland, Adam Thomson, Ben Smith, Alby Mathewson, Zac Guildford, Damien Fakafanua, Zac Guildford, Karne Hesketh, Tamati Ellison, Zac Guildford, Paul Perez,
Sam Whitelock, Kurt Baker, Zac Guildford, Mike Delaney, Zac Guildford, Tim Nanai Williams, Zac Guildford.

And the blondes who love rugby, remind me of the quota points I need to emigrate to NZ!?
Still, we created the epic music in the video...which is about it. Can't wait for the autumn internationals!

We haven't seen enough of him in my opinion... yes he is good but is he as good as Rokocoko, Howlett, Gear, Sivivatu...
I'm not criticising him, but he's not ready yet in my opinion, later on he will defenetly be more than capable of being an All Black.

You watch a ten second bit of a game and say the defense is bad? It's a try video, very few tries come after good defense.
Watch any try video, people are missing tackles. It's how it works.

ArranR, with all due respect, Graeme Henry etc HAVE seen enough of Guildford to make that call. He's a killer finisher, who has an all-round game too. In fact from what I've heard, that's one of the main reasons for him being chosen ahead of Rokocoko etc.

One or two bad bits of defense, but not the defining thing here - thou compared to the highlights from SA a few weeks back, SA club rugby is on fire at the mo
(And yes, comparing the 'best of' to the 'best of' is to some extent valid)
(Tune worked in the end too, seemed a bit mad at first, but that unusual 70s electro tinged rock epic structure worked well - good to see the non play bits at the end - that also worked well.)

And inr egards to HM's theory about NH flankers being quicker, wtf?
Clearly the SH produces the better flankers, always has.
You know guys like Elsom, maccaw, brussow etc.

no wonder zac guilford is in the NZ squad : hes got speed, agility... but he should put the ball under his right arm (ie. the arm wich is closest to the touchline in order to use the other arm to fend off opponents)

He only scored a double hattrick the other day and has scored 10 in 6 games or something crazy.
I can't see Guilford dominating, he doesn't look that quick to be honast and all his tries were pretty short range or running onto kicks.... The kid is talented, but maybe they rushed him in a bit early??
However, im always happy to be proven wrong :-)

I reckon that's worth not quite 1c at best, HM .. a bit of lateral thinking about the footy is great but in the end you've got to make sense .. the brutal reality is that SH flankers as named elsewhere on here, but let's just mention McCaw, Smith, Brussow etc, have proved to be exactly the opposite of what you suggest and lead the world in snaffling the ball at the breakdown. The players are off-loading from the ground because they try to keep the play moving as much as possible and even the best flankers in the game can't always stop them.
