Friday Funnies - Jean-Baptiste Elissalde the Matador

As a hectic weekend of rugby approaches, here's a quick clip of a pretty funny piece of play that was requested by a regular who spotted it during a match a few weeks back.
The match in question was Sale against Toulouse in the Heineken Cup, and as you can see here, scrumhalf Jean Baptiste Elissalde did his very best to avoid making the tackle on massive Sale number eight Sisa Koyamaibole.
Koyamaibole is about 6ft3 and 120kg's, so the far smaller Elissalde, close to 50kg's lighter, probably did a wise thing as he effectively ushered the big Fijian through, while trying his best to make it look like a tackle of course.
If you're a little guy out there and see a brute of a forward charging directly towards you, perfect this technique and you'll live long in the game, as has the 32 year old Elissalde.

Speaking of commentators, what do people think of Brian Moore? I don't know whether to love him or hate him.

Actually like the guy commentating.
He's knowledgable and tell's it like it is. He'll crap all over England if it's warranted.
Wish he'd partner with someone diff than Eddie Butler.

Sure and me I fought with Caesar, Genghis Khan and Attila. By the way, classic French, I agree cos he was enough clever to not be uselessly trashed by a brute.
"Lol, its a special french tactic isnt it? it goes with their secondary national colours......(a white flag!)"
Coming from somebody who doesn't know what he's talkin' about.

suit yourself im not asking for anyone to believe me. i was stating fact.
im pretty sure kearney for tests isnt french (with a name like that), although i could be wrong, so its an obvious conclusion he is one of those pricks that loves to get involved and defend those who need no defence.....
like the black guy at the office who laughs when a white guy tells a racist joke, then another white guy goes to the boss stating the joker made a racist comment that might of offended the black guy!
im pretty sure the french can take some banter obviously none of you ladies can!

"im pretty sure the french can take some banter obviously none of you ladies can!"
I think so but it would be better if there was a taste of originality, apart of that kind of tiresome and childish French bashing.
By the way, i'm stating fact.

If you are angry because you fought in Irak for nothing and lost english guys, it's your problem... we French were not sheeps of The USA and papy Bush... simply...Our gouvernment doesn't lie to People instead your gouvernment...and we have experience of cruel campaigns in Indochina and Algeria that now we are prudents and not blinds and cowards like some people say...well, open your eyes and stop with it...

You're wrong, it's not a surrending white flag. The white part of the flag represents the royalty, surrounded by the blue and the red colors which represent the people of Paris (the colors of paris are blue and red). It was after the revolution and was supposed to represent the French people controling the king.

No you dummy, by secondary colours he means the other flag from the normal french flag......e.g french flag is the primary flag, white flag is the secondary flag..... and waving the white flag is a sign of surrender......
as for the chap talking about IRAQ, not Irak....i never fought there, if you read i fought in the falklands!

....my point is not to dispute this, but the welsh scrum half richie rees is using the boot A LOT, and whilst i have no gripes with this normally, i do however have a gripe about it when you see other players being punished for using the boot...
i.e Danny Grewcock.....
i mean, it was more of a stamp by the scrum half than a rake!
Scottirish February 13, 2010 6:01 pm

Scottish had a fantastic game, but were (i use the term loosely) 'robbed' no one, but the whole welsh team, were to blame, the referee had a great game, and made his intentions clear (warning of yellow's) and Wales capitalised on a 13 man tired scottish team, was very sad for them!
Now on to Ireland, (watching the game now) honestly though, you could never imagine this team was professional, harsh you might say, but really, the errors are school boy errors.....oh, ireland just scored a try.....well anyway....long way to go still! but O'Driscoll is being murdered out there, no room for him......O'Gara...well, even if Morgan Parra (a small player) stopped and asked O'Gara to tackle him, im not sure ronan would be able too.....
I mean, we see in this video Elissalde (No.10) 'avoiding' tackling a charging number 8...which in some ways is clever....no point getting ruined....but O'gara not being able to tackle his opposite number is AWFUL!!!!
Well, Ireland look tired and have less than 14 mins to score 17, possibly 20 points.....which lets face it, i doubt will happen!
Actually, must add, i enjoyed; as much as it pained me, the Scotland Wales game, i thought scotland showed great passion with the running rugby, as well as keeping up their formidable defence!
Well, i'll leave now.....and yeup so far its 17 points ireland need, parra missed!

Fantastic player, and from what we see in Toulouse, his not off to a bad start either as the backs coach !
Kaloyan March 21, 2011 12:59 pm

ellisalde is genious player.. and you only can criticise him when your grandad and your dad played rugby on international level for their country... which is i believe impossible for the commentators uderneath this video
