Super 14 Pick of the Week - Round 4
The Waratahs pulled off a hard-fought win over the Sharks in Sydney, though not entirely without controversy . Centre Tom Carter sliced through a gap almost untouched. Moments later, Tatafu Polata-Nau did the same with Stefan Terblanche not being able to do much about it.
The Brumbies, Stormers and the Hurricanes also show us what quick recycling of the ball can do. The handling skills of Brumbies hooker Stephen Moore are worth a mention, as are some quick-hands and well-timed offloads from the Stormers.
The deadly Chiefs back three of Sitiveni Sivivatu, Lelia Masaga, and Mils Muliana feature in an incisive counter-attack that would later end in a try on the opposite wing. A different looking trio of Hennie Daniller, Jongi Nokwe and Kabama floors also combine to attack from deep.
As always, one must expect the unexpected on the rugby pitch. There no better reminders of this than Kankowski's breakaway interception and Luke Morahan's outstanding chase for a try for the Reds.
Theres always room for a touch of class and we see that in the form of a Daniel Carter line-break and a beautifully delayed pass from Quade Cooper.
There was plenty of involvement from other notable stars, namely a very a fit looking Muliana, a Schalk Burger who passes the ball and a Rocky Elsom-Stephen Hoiles back row combination for the men from ACT. Enjoy the tries.

Nonu looks like he's distributing more nowadays. It's nice to see he's moved on from head down/first reciever style centre.

Ryan Kankowski out pacing a Turner and the cold blood of Quade Cooper to wait and wait to give a perfect pass are rugby postals from the best teams.

Anyways, some great rugby here. These guys really do run almost non-stop for the whole 80 minutes.

Top 14 = French domestic rugby
Super 14 = Clubs from SA/NZ/OZ
I imagine that if you're paying for all those satellite plans, you've probably got a DVR, so just record it all and watch them both.
The Heineken Cup is going on now, too, which is the European club tournament. If you get any of those games, they're usually pretty good, especially now that it'll be the quarter finals (9/10/11 of April).

It's like a club cometion spread over three countries. Like the NFL it has conferences, and the clubs are franchises with no relegation.
The T14 (Top 14) is the French domestic club competition and is probably the richest rugby competition in the world, and has some very good players in it. Entertaining league, perhaps not quite as fast and furious as the S14 though.
The Guiness premiership is all the best clubs in Europe competing, like the Champions league in soccer. It shows the best of European rugby.
The S14 is still considered the best comp.
