Big hits from the top two teams on the Top 14 table
Toulon and Perpignan are now both on 80 points, but the Catalans are ahead due to a better points difference, with their 44-0 win over Albi contributing towards that. Toulon on the other hand had to fight for their nailbiting 26-23 win over Brive at the Stade Amedee-Domenech.
In the featured video here now though, we go back a week and bring you the best of the physicality from the two sides when they met in Marseille, and Toulon came out tops 33-23.
You can see monster Henry Tuilagi smash Toulon captain Joe Van Niekerk twice in this clip, with the one hit being absolutely huge at the back of the lineout. Centre Mafileo Kefu put a great textbook tackle in on Vincent Candelon, breaking his arm on impact, and by the look of things giving himself a bit of a sore shoulder too.
Sebastien Bruno had a huge handoff on Guilem Guirado, who later left the field, and in the same movement you can see Gavin Hume getting smashed around by both Sonny Bill Williams and Jocelino Suta.
He bounced back well though and we later see him time the chase of his own kick perfectly as he flew into Jonny Wilkinson, with one of the bigger hits of the season so far.
More clips to come soon. If there was anything you saw (or didn't see) that you think should be featured on Rugbydump, you know what to do - REQUESTS | EMAIL
Try say the title of this post three times fast, then let the big hitting begin.

In my opinion, as the ball cross the 15m line, it's no longer a touch, thus it's allowed to tackle him even if he is jumping (like for example, if a player jumps when catching a pass).
I'm right ?

i dont think tuilagi's tackle on the guy jumping was actually as hard as it looked....
i mean it looked more like he was dragged out of the air, rather than hit by a flying train...
if you get what i mean...

sometimes i think about how some union forwards would do in league. imagine henry tuilagi playing as a front rower in rugby league. that would be brutal collisions...

Just wondering if someone could tell me what the top French league is called? Is it Top 14? As that is so confusing.

He did play in League for a little while. Nothing came of it.
Freddie Tuilagi, the oldest of the Tuilagis played with ST Helens for a season or two. He went good.
Henry would go good in both League and Union. and I'd even go as far as saying he'd have been a monster in the NFL, given he was raised in America and played gridiron.
