ITM Cup in New Zealand - Highlights from Round 6
Round 7 has already started, so this will just be a quick wrap-up of the results, as well as the highlights for you to take a look at, starting with Counties Manukau as they beat Tasman 23-3 in Pukekohe.
The Sonny Bill Williams show then came to town as Canterbury beat Bay Of Plenty 28-9, with Williams making a solid, if unspectacular, debut off the bench. He showed touches of class at times though, and will start for Canterbury this weekend.
Manawatu sprung the upset of the weekend as they beat the Wellington Lions 36-24, while Southland's winning streak came to an end with a 33-22 loss to Northland. Rene Ranger and Jared Payne combined twice for two excellent tries.
Waikato continued to impress as they beat North Harbour 36-27 in an action packed game in Albany, while at Eden Park Auckland picked up a hard-fought 27-13 win over Taranaki. Finally, on Sunday at Carisbrook Otaga got their first win of the season as they beat Hawkes Bay 17-16.
The video quality isn't perfect but if you enjoy these type of ITM Cup wrap up's, please let me know and they'll continue to be posted each week. Cheers

To B, maybe this will clear things up (or make them more confusing)...

@ Phil, I hear ya, but also thought that one might be handy for some. It would be more work and not much could be squeezed into 5 mins, but as always, happy to listen to the feedback and act based on that in the future. In theory you could always skip around to matches you'd like to see highlights of too.

What does it matter? You will typically watch 5 or 6 x 4 Minute clips, perhaps more after a busy weekend.
Otherwise, Keep up the good work RD.
Cheers.

I watched SBW play, I thought he had a pretty solid game, nothing spectacular, I'm sure that with each passing game he'll undoubtedly start to find his feet and show his real skill set.
Sad to see the Stags drop a game, but i'm sure it will only serve to fire them up for tonights Ranfurly Shield match agaisnt North Harbour.
I love the shield, its so great when the smaller unions get it. These places really get behind their team and come out to support each game. Well if southland have to lose it I hope it is to another smaller union and not the likes of Cant or Auck

1) The poor attendance. Come on guys, you've got the best rugby in the world there in New Zealand! Go and watch it! Fill the stadiums!
2) Masaga's dancing and shaved legs. Go play some football you sissy.
Cheers!

And why shouldn't Masaga dance? It's funny as, I love how cheeky he is, don't be a kill-joy blubbernauter!

So the attendances in this comp aren't all that great, except at big games.
Truth is though, the average attendance is about 7 or 8 thousand per game, which is actually about the same as the Magners League for example.
They just play in large stadiums so it looks like no one is there.

And anons, if we are going to start a debate here please have the manhhod to get a name.
I think teh best way to celebrate a try is clapping hands with your team mates, pointing at the public, shouting, hugging a forward or the man that gave you the pass... If rugby has a great ethos taht is miles away from every other soport, it's because of respect. for the opposition and your mates. You don't do things like that.

If you in fact do, that's pretty sad and pathetic, imo. :)
He's scored a try, let him celebrate how he pleases. Quit trying to be better than every other sport with this 'this isnt soccer' bullshit and focus on what's important - scoring tries yourself, so you can celebrate however you choose to.
