Edinburgh get first win with victory over Leinster at Murrayfield
Chris Paterson notched up 700 Magners League points as Edinburgh scored four tries through Geoff Cross, Tim Visser, Mark Robertson, and David Blair. Blair kicked five points while Paterson added seven of his own.
Jonathan Sexton was a late exclusion from the game for Leinster, but Edinburgh themselves had a new flyhalf in David Blair, the brother of scrumhalf Mike, as he came in to replace the injured Phil Godman.
Ireland internationals Jamie Heaslip and Rob Kearney scored tries for Leinster in the second half, but they fell short of getting a losing bonus point with a missed conversion with time up. It was a back-to-back loss for Leinster, after they went down to Treviso last weekend.
Edinburgh coach Rob Moffat kept celebrations low key though as he said there was still plenty to do after he was disappointed with the way his side allowed Leinster to score the late tries.
"Its easier to be critical when you win because then it is taken in the right way. When you lose games you have to be careful with what you say, because guys go into their shells and become afraid to try things," he said.
"I thought we switched off with about 15 minutes to go tonight. We cant afford to do that. Weve got to keep going." Referring to Leinster nearly getting a bonus point, Moffat said he would have been very disappointed. "These things matter at the end of the season."

Ah well, Munster next week should stir some emotions and maybe get them playing well... it is for five in a row after all.

It looked like some decent attacking rugby from Edinburgh. Nice to see Paterson back to form.
What is the deal with Horgan? Is he really trying to avoid national selection. One try was directly his fault, another was saved by a decent cover tackle from 15 but he missed the first tackle, the third he's tackling the guy off the ball and right from the kick off he's getting involved in a bit of afters, what a tool.

1. Playing with no heart. Either they're arrogant or they're being lazy. In the Treviso games, there were a few young lads. The loss is more understandable. But against Edinburgh, there were plenty of experienced players on the field and bench. I don't get why this has started happening.
2. Slow to get to the breakdown. Players are consistently taking too much time to get to the mauls. It's simply annoying just watching them trundle over to the mauls at a snails pace. The players are also slow at getting to the fringes of the mauls so they are easier to start an attack from for the opposition.
3. Running the ball with no momentum consistently. The backs keep taking the ball at a standstill and they only make progress every now and again where a player makes a good jinking run, but that's not enough.
4. Leinster's defence was one of the most impressive two years ago, and not too shabby last year as well. It was like running at a brick wall. This year, it's leaking backs and forwards through all the game.
I'm not an expert or anything, just a rugby fan, but even I can see massive holes in their play. I don't see how their current management hasn't taken them up on it.

Horgan (McFadden, Conway, O'Malley all better and can cover other pos, interesting to see when Leinster have fully fit backline whether he's picked)
Horan (Worst prop at Munster out of 8 or so, but will be 1st choice in Hcup)
Hayes (need I explain)
O'Gara (granted he still can turn it on, and has made couple of tackles this season, but still huge liability)
D'arcy (since the Lions has been a different player to the 1 that went) and
O'Driscoll (ok, there is a reason but, ire's worst performer v Aus and completely disinterested v Edinburgh)

Agree with all but that. O'Driscoll's worst day is another player's average day, and they are uncommon. Due to his current style of play, when he does have a good day, it often goes unnoticed by 90% of spectators.
