Iv always been impressed with Burger... He seems like a more rounded player than Brussow... HB only seems to dominate at the breakdown where Burger is very mobile and even offers a line-out option.

You gotta love Mills though, he really has been an amazing FB over the past few years, despite a lot of competition from Jane and now Dagg.

You knucleheads say that every year about whoever comes second or third in the tri nations, and every year you have to eat your words.
Just because NZ, the greatest team in rugby beats Aus and South Africa, it doesn;t mean for a second that vastly less skilled and dangerous European teams can do it.
South Africa and Aus will still win the majority of their games on tour, as they almost always do.
Wales will agin get thrashed, and again Welsh people will see positives in their defeats, like they always do.
Something like "We played really good for those first 40 minutes, sure we lost by 20 points at home to a developmental squad, but if we can just play for 80 minutes those dastardly Souther Hemisphere teams will be quaking in their boots..."

I agee the tri nations are nothing, ireland won against the boks scot won against the oz and England almost won against the abs. Think this is the year for the NH teams. We (england) won against oz, destroyed them and then just played around with the maori's like they were a bunch of school kids. They didn't even break a sweat and managed to score tries. If so, then I'd think statistics like these would be important...ugh, hopefully it doesn't become as bad as the NFL, though, where every play results in some sort of record being set and statistics being thrown up on the television.

Don't be deceived, the Springboks started the 2010 Tri-Nations with 8 of their 2009 starting players out. Still, if you're talking about blooding players before the World Cup, then it was a success. de Jongh, Aplon and Hougaard all shone and should all be in the 22 for the World Cup.

I'm not the english guy above, but NZ has not won it once. The 1987 one does not count, many Nzers will tell you this. It was an invitational friendly tournament and not a proper "world cup", if you may.

Never heard any Kiwi claim that the 1987 World Cup was an invitational friendly! And the argument that South Africa wasn't involved and therefore it doesn't count is irrelevant, as is the attempt to play down South Africa's success in 2007 based on them not playing Australia and New Zealand.

If we are talking about World Cups, Australia are the best with 2 wins and one final.

If you're talking about current results, the world rankings are where you need to look.
The tri-nations have won about 75% of all games against non-tri nations opposition since 2003.
They regularly spank the European teams (who get the odd win then crow about it for years).

1. NZ
2. Aus
3. SA

Carter and Cooper are the two best in the world right now. Cooper is breaking the mould for fly-halves, very exciting to see him play.

Ireland and France lead the NH charge yet again for the AI, both capable of pulling off wins over all three SH teams, that cant be argued.

Please stop, you are making the NH rugby fans look like idiots. I am more than willing to accept that the SH are much better at international level. However, i would also like the SH to accept that their players are much fitter and better, not because they are much more skillfull or better athletes, but because they are much fitter due to their pre-season being longer and their actual season being MUCH shorter. For example a NH player can play up to 40 games in a season before the summer tours have even come around!
Disagree if you want but i really don't think a James Hook or Brian O'Driscol is far behing any SH player.

It's so difficult to rank the 10s, because they all offer different things, DC is the one you gotta have on your team. But if you have a backrow that could win penalties then you probably want steyn who can slot them from anywhere. English 10s are awful, Dan Parks probably offers more than them nowadays. Sexton is the future for british FHs.

The SH is obviously better than us...the world cup will be interesting. Aside from the french, our only chance is to defend the SH sides to death.

To the anon above me, Scotland are the most exciting international team in the NH. Constantly getting better, with the addition of some very talented backs, they play an adaptable sort of rugby with an amazing running game.

The Scots are a brilliant team under Andy Robinson, they just need the infrastrcuture to be able to continue this rapid growth.

The thing with them aswell, is that yes, they beat the Australians and the Irish, but you don't hear a lot of it. I don't hear a lot of Scots mouthing off about an odd win, like the English do with their minimal win rate over Australia / All Blacks, or the Welsh at how they ''nearly beat the All Blacks''.

Scotland is a very likeable rugby team for these reasons.

Generally people hate those at the top of the ladder + the english. Not sure why. SA since 2007, Ireland since 2009, it'll be NZ for the next year, but I have no idea why there's such English abuse. That seems to be an ongoing thing!

Andy, totally agree. They get a rough ride but take it on the chin. People love to hate the English for some reason, not just within rugby. The Scots and Irish can't stand them historically, which I find quite sad tbh. Kids are brought up hating them, which isn't great.
