Super Rugby Pick of the Week - Round 1
As mentioned in a previous post, the Blues match against the Crusaders was probably the game of the weekend in terms of a spectacle, with the result, a narrow win for the Blues, possibly being somewhat of an upset.
This weekend the Crusaders were set to play the Hurricanes, but due to the devastating nature of the disaster that's taken place in Christchurch, both franchises have agreed to not play the match, with the result being considered a draw. Each side will take two points from it.
You saw Robbie Coleman's brilliant effort for the Brumbies against the Chiefs, as well as Gerhard van den Heevers solo sprint against the Lions, earlier in the week. Those are included again in this summary, along with a pick of the best from the other matches.
On a side note, there's been a few distasteful comments on here of late, which is totally against the spirit of the website and cannot be considered acceptable. Rugbydump has always strived to bring you the best video clips from around the world, aiming to make it a pleasant experience for the true rugby fan, no matter where you're from.
You're exposed to literally thousands of people from all over the world every day of the week. Embrace that, discuss rugby, make friends. If you can't do that, please don't bother commenting. Arguing on here is pointless and all that happens is the site's reputation gets tarnished, which leads to less traffic, less revenue, and less chance of RD staying afloat.
Please be a positive part of this community, and enjoy the free service that's provided. Thanks.

The tries here are glorious! Each year super rugby gets faster and more skilful. Hats off to 'em, that was world class! Cheers RD.
My thoughts to all those in Christchurch
Colombes February 25, 2011 11:35 am

Nice clip, unfortunately difficult to appreciate it, thinking to Christchurch events.

Also, is O'Connor playing 10 for Force? Is he filling in there or are they trying him out as a fly half?
Great clip and good point on the comments, the odd troll is part and parcel of the comments section of any successful blog but having to sift through tens of inane comments - geared only at iliciting a response - in order to find comments written by genuine fans with an opinion is getting boring.

Just saying.

Some great trys there. The Rebels and brumbies game was a cracker tonight. Good win by the rebels.

As for Ranger, it just goes to show the wealth of talent the All Blacks have that he's not in the starting line-up for them
With New Zealand looking great, the Saffers looking strong at times, the Aussies dangerous but lacking a top-class pack, England on the up and France their usual mercurial selves, this World Cup is going to be superb.
Hoping a couple of the smaller teams can pull off a victory or two. Think Pool D is the one to look at - SA, Wales, Fiji, Samoa - there will be some cracking games there

Thanks to the others for the positive feedback.

Jokes, jokes.
Love the site and as a Canadian fan, this website is my number one source of rugby content. I am a daily visitor and very grateful.
Will be in SA to visit family in the coming weeks and looking forward to catching the Stormers vs Cheetahs at Newlands in two weeks. Will be my first live Super Rugby experience and my wife's first live rugby game period (besides my club games of course). Can't wait!
Here's to RD, a cracking end to the 6N, a super Super rugby season and most of all a speedy recovery for the brave citizens of Canterbury!

As for RD, it is without doubt the best rugby website ever. Along with the BBC sport website its my most visited page. Walk into any rugby club in the world and I guarantee someone will be talking about a clip that was posted on RD. Keep up the good work and try to ignore the inevitable morons.
On a side note. Thoughts go out to anyone affected by the earthquake. Looking forwards to you guys rebuilding and putting on a hell of a show for the RWC later this year. You will have to go some to beat France's efforts though.

Good work RD, but also good work everyone else for the decent comments.

Keep the good work and your spirit up!!!
Do enjoy very much the site. I do not have the opportunity to follow the Super 15 and for instance this clip and the blue/crusaders hits are just great to enjoy as Rugby enthousiasts.
Some of the set piece and their build up are just brillant.
Small question: some beautiful backs running tries but any fat boys running tries or is this more rare to find? (or too much to show probably).

1 make coffee;
2 check mail
3 go to rugbydump.com
If you keep putting up those kind of clips, 2 and 3 will definitely swaps places. Coffee keeps coming first though.
Agree with everyone above: thanks for the terrific job you're doing here. Keep spreading the joy of rugby please.
And my thoughts go to the people in Christchurch and to the Crusaders specificly since they seem to have lost one of their board members in the quake
Reid February 25, 2011 3:17 pm

Nice tries for the first round
Anonymous February 25, 2011 3:57 pm

O'Connor is filling in at 10 because Ripia is injured. He was really good in that position though, but they said they wanted to play him at 12 and at 15 this season.
Juggernauter February 25, 2011 4:24 pm

On a side note, it's WC year so I think we can get the NH v SH banter going, (maybe it's unavoidable) as far as we make our points with respect. For instance, I think France will combine superb displays with torrid ones, and that England will be really competitive against everyone -but the All Blacks should really keep the Webb Ellis there.
They have reinvented rugby since France 2007 and I can't see anybody (save the high tempo Aussies)from getting it.
Regarding the earthquake, I'm from Chile and as you may know we got our own little sismic activity almost exactly a year ago so I kinda guess what's going on at Christchurch... My best to them and I really hope the city gets up in time for the world showpiece.
And RD, thanks a ton for everything. As Guy, I have a routine of mine as well, consisting in a long visit to the toilet, a coffee and checking the site daily.
Keep up the good work and let's all work together for the benefit of rugby
Cheers
