Dan Carter groin injury rules him out of Canada match

Dan Carter was named as captain of the All Blacks when Richie McCaw pulled out with a foot injury, but shortly after fell to the floor after some kicking drills.

McCaw's injury and rest is precautionary, while Carter's looks like it could be fairly serious.

"Carter will be further assessed this evening and an update will be given tomorrow," said an All Blacks spokesman. "No further updates will be given at this time."

Colin Slade comes in at number ten, while Piri Weepu will provide cover from the bench.
