Classic Encounters - Montpellier vs Racing Metro on New Year's Eve

The game of the weekend in the French Top 14 was Montpellier's 29-14 win over Racing Metro at the Stade Olympique Yves du Manoir on Saturday. Both sides showed attacking intent throughout, which provided a thoroughly entertaining spectacle.
On New Years Eve Montpellier pulled off this valuable win which keeps them in touch for the play-offs. They scored four tries, some of them out of the top drawer, via captain Fulgence Ouedraogo, Lucas Amorosino, Santiago Fernandez, and Sakiusa Matadigo.
Remy Vaquin and Sireli Bobo, who keeps getting better with age, scored a try each for the visitors. Bobo denied Montpellier a bonus point by scoring that late try.
"We have rediscovered our smile," Montpellier assistant coach Didier Bes said.
"We would have given our right hand for such a result, even if losing the offensive bonus point in the last minutes is annoying as we gave it away in turning the ball over," he added.
Montpellier were delighted with the win though, considering the thumping they took from Toulouse previously. Below are extended highlights from the game as there were many quality pieces of play to see. Keep an eye on RD's Twitter and Facebook for more updates and to place your requests.

The match was a real cracker throughout, Racing and Montpellier are two attacking sides in the Top14 ... Racing Metro is ranked last in its Heineken Cup pool, but has the highest number of points scored in their pool (and worst defence, thus their ranking).
Also noted: at some point Jacques Cronje from Racing gets into a brawl with Fulgence Ouedraogo. When the referee calls them up, they keep on arguing in front of the referee. Cronje is saying that Ouedraogo just eye-gouged him. And Ouedraogo is mad with anger, saying "no f--- way, I never do stuff like that!". It gets to the point where the referee tells Ouedraogo that he better calm down, being captain and all ...

a) the French commentary
b) the way both teams try to attack from all over the park
c) something unexpected allways seems to happen in those games
Some real impressive, strong players on the pitch. Incredible...
It looks like the ref played advantage to the attacking team. I thought he missed a few marginally forward passes. But I guess in the end the best team won anyway so no harm done.
By the way: I think it is really hard to notice all these things when the game is moving at such a pace.
Anyway: great advert for the greatest game in the universe, so thanks RD for posting this.
And best wishes to everybody (a bit late but never too late to wish other people something good, I guess)!!!!!

on a side note Ouedraogo finally impose himself as a great flanker, he plays with more confidence and power since 1 year. He 's the perfect captain for this young montpellier squad.
i bet on a ouedraogo-harinordoquy(or picamoles)-dusautoir backrow for the 6N

Somehow, that was almost like league...is supposed to be! I'm sure in reality there was plenty of trad forward play, but it seemed v league like....

Was there previous, repeat infringements like this or from this player? If I saw that on the paddock this weekend I'd barely consider penalising it
