Rugby Club Plays of the Week 2012 - Round 1

This year's Super Rugby is hotting up right the way across New Zealand, South Africa, and Australia. As we head into week two, here's a quick look back on the best of round one, courtesy our friends at The Rugby Club on Fox Sports.

In week one things were pretty evenly matched with the biggest points differential being 13 in the Stormers vs Hurricanes game, after that the next highest was just 5. Most games were tight and went down to the final minutes, but in fairness didn't produce the kind of flair we've come to expect.

We were however treated to some big hits, funny moments, and a few excellent tries, so as has become the norm here on RD, we're sharing them in the form of the Plays of the Week from the Rugby Club in Australia, put together by the man that can, Sean Maloney.

We've featured highlights of all the games in our Super Rugby Extra section, and will continue to do so, but will also put together some best tries and hits videos over the next few weeks, as well as post the best random bits here and there.

So if you're watching Super Rugby this weekend and see something you think should be on the site, please don't hesitate to contribute with your knowledge of it, or even better, a video that's sliced, diced and ready to go. For now, here are round one's Plays of the Week.

Nice one. Really miss this!

Decent set of games in round one, some really close scores. Love a close contest.

Looks like that's set to continue - just seen Canes beat Lions by 2...
