Midweek Madness - Opeti Fonua puts referee Cedric Marchat on his backside

In the French Top 14 a few weeks back referee Cedric Marchat found himself on the receiving end of a charge from Agen's Tongan giant Opeti Fonua, who reportedly weighs in at a mammoth 135kg, and is 6ft6. Marchat survived.

If that wasn't enough of a blow, the diminutive referee ended up under a pile of bodies before being spat out the other end. He looked pretty shaken afterwards, but with a smile on his face, seemed more concerned about his broken whistle than his personal well being.

If you're a regular on the site you'll note that this certainly isn't the first time a ref has tasted the turf, only to have it shared on here with everyone. It's one of those things that players, and fans, find great amusement in for some reason or another.
