Best Tries of the Top 14 - Rounds 16, 17, and 18
As we head into another weekend of rugby, here is a chance to catch up on the best tries scored in France of late, with three Top 10 compilations from Canal Plus.
That's 30 tries in total, all varying in degrees of wow factor, but all enjoyable to watch if you need a bit of a try fest to kick start the weekend.
If you fancy a challenge, work out your best three tries of the 30, and let us know below.

How can french club rugby be so dominant but the national side really struggles?
Obviously having unlimited money helps but they've got amazing strength in depth

I think it's interesting that in France, it is the club who decides wether or not the international players are allowed to play. I don't know the situation for any other countries, but in England Lancaster has complete control over that decision. It seems that the Top 14 undermines the international side with a load of little niggly things, making it impossible for PSA to manage in the way he would like.

I assume it's the same as soccer in England; it's league is probably the best in the world, but the national team suffers as a result.

Look at the names of the try scorers, here is a first clue. Yes, we've got some strong teams in France, because the money flows. But there are also downsides, and if I can give a few leads: 1. Clubs are payers, and they don't gracefully cooperate with the national side. 2. Many foreign players making it harder for promising youngsters to develop 3. A tough competition with the fear of being relegated or not qualified depending on the clubs, so a lot of fatigue and not much risk-taking in the game. 4. Basically, a lot of money but not so much a professional organization to make it work for the best.

some nice flair tries, like always in this competition
but as said above, it's time for the "unlimited money" top14 clubs to cooperate with the "limited" FFF to securize the international team.

France is the last professionnal country where international players are paid at 90% by their clubs, and are not contracted by the Federation.
For insurance stuffs, FFR only pays <500 € per day per caped player to the clubs as contribution. Which is ridiculous compared to real wages+payroll charges the clubs have to pay.
A 4 years deal exists between FFR and LNR that schedules releaseing periods for Equipe de France.
That convention is presently renegociated.

As you can see,Rougerie is obviously too old to play for France.
