Toulon play Olympique Marseille in half rugby-half football charity match

The rugby half, where both sides were mixed and it was generally chaotic, but lots of fun for those that played and attended. Marseille physio Christophe Maouvrier scored the late equalising try.

Not too sure what I just watched. But it sure was funny.

I was expecting to cringe, but actually quite enjoyed it! That scrum really made me laugh with all the footballers running in to join it, and the ref saying (in french) 'Three in the front row, two in the next row'. Comedy gold!

Basically what scrum refereeing is like at top level nowadays! What a brilliant game though, I've always wanted to see rugby players and footballers have at it!

Quite a few players out there that are pretty good in both sports. Entertaining stuff!

I really enjoyed how fun and humorous that was. I hope a couple of Irish or English teams decide to play a combined match so I've a chance of watching one!

You had to see those children eyes at the game...
So excited they couldn't sleep the whole week before !
Better than any chemotherapy.

For the story : Cantona didn't scored his conversion.
He said before kicking he was going to touch the bar, and he did it.
That worth 2 points. :D

Quality stuff! They must make this annual or something. I would gladly watch a cross-game like this on either TV or live.

That scrum looked more competitive than an average Super Rugby scrum.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant... almost like rugby football going back to it's roots. I hope this becomes an annual thing with the same good will and humour!!

I think it is great they used Leivrement to ref the game as he clearly demonstrated when he was French coach that he knows nothing about the positions of rugby!

I don't see Jonny Wilkinson anywhere. Too much like fun for him??? Shame he wasn't involved, that Adidas thing he did with Beckham a few years ago was quality, he looked quite handy at football.

He was there but didn't play, resting of a groin injury.

He played Toulon first pre-season trial game yesterday and missed a lot of kicks.
A bit out of rythm.

I watched the game on TV (BeIn), it was fun. The 1st half was really good (football), the 2nd half alright but a bit slow (some didn't understand the touch rugby rules right away). I was surprised the football players kicked so well in the 2nd half...
