Mass brawl between Arka Gdynia and Budowlani Lodz in Poland

This is a quick look at a crazy fight involving just about all of the players in the semifinals of the Polish League, which took place at the National Rugby Stadium in Gdynia.

The match was between Arka Gdynia (yellow), and one of the best Polish teams, Budowlani Lodz.

Some kind of altercation between the Budowni Lodz scrumhalf and the Arka Gdynia lock sparked the unsavoury scenes, but after the game they apparently all got together for a beer.

That's what makes our sport so great. What happens on the field, stays on the field. You probably wouldn't get that in many other sports :) #ILoveRugby

1958 if you must know, and they're ranked 28th in the world

They also have one of the leading Deaf rugby squads, which we Deafboks are hoping to take on in the near future.

Exciting stuff!

I played with a guy that was in the Polish national team. He was a badass athlete.

Ugly situation for sure, but oh well! It's not the end of the world.

If this is unacceptable so is the brawl after the Springboks v All Blacks game, but no one said anything about that. Sure, there are punches thrown here but no one appears to get injured and they all seemed to sort themselves out.

This has about as much of a place in rugby union as does binge drinking or public nudity..

"...all got together for a beer". And that's simply why rugby players are the better sort of sportsmen.

The fight is not great advertisement for our beloved sport but the fact that they have a beer after is! Need to see more of this! (Not the fighting) I've been playing amateur rugby in england for about 7 years in senior rugby and feel that teams are to quick to leave the other teams club houses these days would be nice if the teams could have a good drink and a good laugh at the good and the ugly parts of the game they were all involved in. it seems most teams hardly say a word to each other just grab the meal after the shit shower and then do one! A shame really, it would be nice for this great tradition of singing songs at one another clubhouses to be sparked back to life!

I don't like it, lots of 2v1, 3v1 there. Wild punches, kicks, lucky no one hurt. Grab a jersey, wrestle a guy, no need to punch, serious injuries can occur

It's not one the screen, but there was one knock out (?ód? second rower on Gdynia's backs player)...

No kicking definitely, but I'm not going to stand there tugging the shirt of a bloke who's trying to batter the daylights out of one of my team mates...

Not a bad way to exchange what it could've been a try and a goal kick, for a 3 points penalty ... good defense!

You would be surprised at how good polish rugby is they will for sure be seen in the next couple of years. A lot of french teams are going over to play and getting beat easy. Not so good for the prop but hes one of the best players in poland at the moment and is only 20 years old ! Hope to see the kicking stop but then again i agree with Drg im not going to sit and let a guy punch me.
