Rob Simmons yellow carded for off the ball shoulder on Felipe Contepomi

Felipe Contepomi played his final Test on Saturday, turning out against the Wallabies for his 87th cap, an Argentina record. Unfortunately things didn't go exactly to plan in front of his home crowd as his team took a heavy defeat, and he was on the receiving end of a big shoulder.

Wallaby Rob Simmons was yellow carded after he took Contepomi out of the ball with a no-arms tackle. In Simmons' defence he seemed to lean into the contact after commiting to his man, but the lack of an attempt to wrap, and following through with the shot, made it look pretty bad.

Contepomi was shaken, but continued on before receiving a warm reception when he was substituted later in the game. He will work in his father's doctor's practice upon retirement.

It would have read less rubbish if you had written:"In Simmons' defence he seemed to lean into contact after being fooled by Bosch's outstanding dummy, but him being not very brilliant, he might have being unsure whether a pass was actually made or not. The confusion cast a cloud over his -already slow- mental processes and thus he failed to attempt to wrap his opponent.
After an informative chat while sin-binned, including explicative drawings and a purple dinosaur explaining him with detail and patience, he finally understood what went wrong and promised never to tackle again players who don't have the ball".
This piece of fantasy seems more suited for your article. At least we'll know you're actually joking.

If you're referring to that enlightening piece above, I can only wish that he would've.

that´s more a red card rather than a yellow one, it´s always the same story, it´s like referess aren´t fair enough with argentina-

What difference would it have made. Argentina got their buts kicked.
Blaming the ref for conceding 50 points is ridiculous.
How about not missing so many tackles?

Maybe if Argentina hadn't lost the ball out of the back of the scrum on Australia's line, allowing Australia to grab the ball?
Maybe if Argentina had not knocked the ball on so much, or thrown so many poor passes, or missed so many tackles around the ruck?
Maybe the ref had nothing to do with it.
Maybe stop complaining.

on a side note, absolutely baffled by aussie pundits comments:
"is contempomi really injured? not if that matters..."

really really "intelligent" stuff about a player who has received a shoulder at full speed and played his last match

Agreed. Look at Contempomi's head whip back on impact. No play acting required on that one.

Badly let themselves down with that didn't they. And wouldn't let it lie either, complaining about his "miraculous recovery" and "self-diagnosis". Pricks.

Yeah it probably wasn't fair. Except he immediately got up and was fine after Simmons got carded.

beyond lazy,... the arms up in a whoops gesture just compounds the "attempted tackle" error

That's reckless. The yellow's fine as it wasn't high IMO!
