Eddie Butler on Jonny Wilkinson career

Eddie Butler sums up Jonny Wilkinson career with rousing tribute

Jonny Wilkinson's career comes to an end shortly, but in the past few years he's managed to get the best out of a body that has suffered with injury throughout. Rugby writer and commentator Eddie Butler pays tribute to the great flyhalf, who is ending his career on a high with Toulon.

All that remains is a Top 14 final, the ultimate prize for the French team that have put together something special down south. A Rugby World Cup, Heineken Cup and possibly a Top 14 title. Not a bad little career for a player that considers himself totally over-rated.

'Adored from one end of the continent to the other, all around the rugby playing world.'

Gentleman. One of my heroes. If I have half the humility and good-nature of that man when I'm older, I'll be privileged.
