Top 10 Best Tries from Round 1 of the Top 14

The Top 14 kicked off in France last weekend, so as has become commonplace with Canal+, they've put together their selection of the best tries from the first round. It's only broadcast a week later, during round two, so this is the latest, featuring all the best from the opening weekend.

This league really produces great tries. Also love the way these highlights include the entire build-up. Some of these tries are great because the build-up is end-to-end and the advantage changes several times. Most other highlights only show the final passage of play.

Historically, the French have always been good at running away...

(sorry, had to get that one in there)

Probably one of the few leagues where backs run at space rather than at the nearest shirt. Ironic that the French Leagues are possibly the most violent and intimidating... Pro D2 might as well be MMA. Even Victor Matfield said he had taken up Boxing lessons so he could look after himself, if anybody was going to take a cheap shot in the pack, it would be Mr World Cup Winner himself.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe a lot of players in the French Leagues have try scoring and try assist bonuses and clauses, like in football. If the monthly salary wasn't incentive enough, a nice chunk of change for dotting it down or making the break would certainly make me chase my players no matter how far i was from them, french back 3 play is poetry in motion. You've got to keep your missus in Louboutins somehow

Points are as follows:
win = 4 points
draw = 2 points
loss = 0 point
Defense bonus point = 1 point if you lose by a maximum of 7 points; for instance you lose 10-15.
Attack bonus point = 1 point added if you score 3 tries more than your opponent; your opponent score 2 tries, you need to score 5 tries to get this bonus point.

Game of Thrones soundtrack was cool at first but I couldn't make it all the way through unfortunately. Just kept seeing Oberyn's face smashed in.
