The Hurricanes scored this fantastic try using some outstanding Barrett brothers flair against the Highlanders in round four of Super Rugby. The score started on the boot of one Barrett brother and found its way around the back of another, leading to the Matt Proctor try.
The Brothers Barrett helped the Hurricanes bounce back from their round three loss to the Chiefs with a 41-13 win over the Highlanders.
The score was started just beyond half time as Beauden Barrett went with a cross-kick that reached his brother Jordie, who then managed an amazing behind-the-back pass to Matt Proctor for the score.
Also impressive, was how he managed to run several steps holding his defender at bay.
For just a few Super Rugby matches, 20-year-old Jordie is looking like a seasoned veteran. His play has certainly gotten attention from Hurricanes coach, Chris Boyd. "He's a young man and I thought it was a really polished performance from him."
"Still in his mind he likes the idea of being a 12, I think he's a tailor-made 15. Apart from maybe blistering top-end speed, everything else that you design around a fullback he has," Boyd told Stuff.
This scene is one that will likely be repeated many more times in the years to come, as the brothers link up for the Hurricanes and possibly in future, higher honours for young 6'4" Jordie.
If he continues this pace, he'll be able to cement what is surely a spot as an All Black in waiting and may even get a chance when the British and Irish Lions come calling, as is mentioned in the second video here.
The panel from New Zealand show The Breakdown discuss whether young Jordie Barrett has what it takes to at least be a member of the All Blacks squad for the upcoming British & Irish Lions tour.
