Try of the Year candidates for Aviva Premiership rugby have been unveiled

The shortlist for Citizen's Try of the Year has been revealed. Eight of the best tries from the Aviva Premiership have been selected as the standouts among their peers. In an added twist with the voting, for the first time ever, the general public will determine the winner.

Here is the shortlist for this year's Citizen Try of the Year:

  • Billy Twelvetrees - Round 4 (Glouster) vs Worcester Warriors
  • Mikey Haywood - Round 5 (Northampton Saints) vs Harlequins
  • Jack Singleton - Round 9 (Worcester Warriors) vs Leicester Tigers
  • Will Chudley - Round 11 (Exeter Chiefs) vs Northampton Saints
  • Sinoti Sinoti - Round 13 (Newcastle Falcons) vs Exeter Chiefs
  • Henry Trinder - Round 14 (Gloucester) vs Leicester Tigers
  • Faf de Klerk - Round 18 (Sale Sharks) vs Worcester Warriors
  • Tom Homer - Round 21 (Bath) vs Gloucester

Public voting will take place exclusively on the Premiership Rugby app. The winner will be announced at the Aviva Premiership Rugby Awards on Wednesday, May 16.

A few days later, Saturday May 19th, Saracens host Wasps, while Exeter Chiefs play host to Newcastle Falcons in Premiership semi-final action.
