France U20 celebrate in style following World Championship victory

France were crowned U20 champions at the weekend after a superb 33-25 victory over England at the Stade de la Méditerrannée in Béziers and they made sure to celebrate in style.

To no-one's great surprise, the squad were met with rapturous applause after the final whistle, all captured exclusively via a lovely behind-the-scenes victory lap of the stadium.

The star performer for the home side was fly-half Louis Carbonel, whose perfectly weighted chip in behind the English defence for Maxime Marty's try four minutes from time sealed victory.

Carbonel, who this year penned a two-year deal with Toulon, also led a variation of the famous toulonais chant the "Pilou Pilou". The out-half certainly got his team-mates in the right mood, despite gracing them with no shorts!

It caps off a remarkable season for the French national squads. The men's senior team showed an improvement in form in the Six Nations with victories over Italy and England while the U20s clinched the title.

The Women went even better by claiming a comprehensive Grand Slam with the equivalent 7s squad finishing every round of the circuit inside the top six.

This latest success on home soil has re-enforced France's climb back into the top echelons of the sport, with the U20s being earmarked for future representation ahead of the 2023 World Cup, which France will host.
