Hosea Gear bumps Keith Earls out the road on his way to the tryline

I've always been a huge Hosea Gear, he's such a great finisher and most other teams around the world would be dying to have him on their team. The fact that he's only player nine tests shows how much depth the All Blacks have!

Ospreys into the RaboDirect Pro12 final with big win over Munster

Awful commentator, but more importantly. How good was Richard Fussell! So many line breaks that led to tries and none tries......

Tai Tuifua's dangerous flying tackle on Nicky Robinson

Contact on the head or neck is counted as high, whether it was the first point of contact is there or not. It is a player safety issue and is the responsibility of the tackler because they are in more control of the contact.
The NFL is having huge issues with head injuries and there has been a number of suicides by retired players claiming that their was depression caused by concussions the received while playing.
So protecting players from head injuries is important and Tuifua hits him in the head and it is his responsibility to make a safe tackle

Henry Tuilagi straight red card for hit on Damien Neveu

I thought professional rugby was its own weight division? If you don't match up physically you don't have a job. Union is a game of mismatches and exposing those mismatches is the way you win games

Bradley Davies & Stephen Ferris controversial tackles discussed

Also where did this term "tip" tackle come from? It seems to have been invented in the past few years

Bradley Davies & Stephen Ferris controversial tackles discussed

Davies was incredibly stupid and deserves what he gets. Ferris was unlucky, Evan's other leg is on the ground almost to the point of impact and it's more like he's falling over than getting driven or dropped into the ground. The different rules? Well i've played consistently from the Under 12s to a semi-professional level and I can't think of an instance of a spear/tip tackle, so JD may have a point.
