Joe Moody elbow that sparked biggest comeback in Super Rugby history

Alesana for the knee on the Japanese player?

I agree with you regarding mitigating factors...it's not exactly like it's deniable...

Imo the only mitigating circumstances should be a players prior record and perhaps the surroundings of an incident.. if it was say a bad high shot that looked totally accidental and the offender immediately sought for medical help for the injured player or something.. even Haskell on Jamie Roberts rings a bell, I'd be inclined to take that sort of thing into account, but certainly not towards a 50% reduction!

I know things aren't always black and white, but sometimes I think entry level should be entry level...

Second row Geoff Parling attempts grubber, hilarity ensues

That sad moment where as a second you think you might just be in with a chance of not having to be locked in behind a props arse if you can just show off your handy skills...

...Only to be reminded that big backs are not a new thing and that if you had any skills you'd have already been utilised...

Eddie Jones reflects on Brad Shields and other England squad selections

Similar to yourself, in that I was born in one country to mixed heritage parents, then lived in another until my teens, then moved to a 3rd country, now back in country of birth....I could player for 5 of the 6 nations teams based on parents/grandparents, and that's not even considering countries outside of those...

#whoami?

Very hard to be the judge on the matter. I noticed with Ireland recently fielding Bundee Aki, the matter was really highlighted against Irish folk, stereotypically, ginger hair, very pale and generally has a name which is easily assumed as Irish - has an O' in front of it, or they're called Paddy, or something equally stereotypical. So when a bloke takes to the field who has a sort of year round tan, and a name that perhaps doesn't 'fit the mould' as well as say CJ Stander - born in SA, Jamie Heaslip - born in Israel who are both white etc, it gets people talking. It's not a racism thing, it's a comfort thing. No one is racist, but if you know a white guy and his white wife and they have a black child - you may have some questions about the whole thing that perhaps you should or shouldn't ask.

So again, who can judge this? Heaslips dad was in the military, so he was born overseas but moved back at a young age, should he be excluded? Stander has a much thicker portfolio in the country of his birth, but should he choose to leave that country and really well and truly adopt the Irish way, because he's always dreamed of living there, paying taxes there etc, should he be excluded? Or should a guy who missed the boat in his career in his home grown country trying out for another nation by residency be excluded too?

Really hard to be the decider in the whole matter...

Fullback runs straight into a brick wall in new US rugby competition

Ugh, always the little guys that cause the issues.

I remember years ago, being around 16stone playing flanker and ending up in a two on one, scrum half had the ball and I decided that I'm sure to lose the 2v1, but it was a good time to ruin his day, totally legal but I caught him so sweetly that somewhere along the line some part of his leg (foot or knee) caught me on the shin JUST below my knee, I thought I'd broken my leg, he left the field, I hobbled around for a fair time before eventually being able to put a decent amount of weight on it to carry on..! Jeez it was painful!

Memory tells me the other 1 was caught by a covering tackle... But I was in so much agony I couldn't give a hoot if they'd scored 2-3 tries in that one move!

Glad both players in this video were ok! Lovely legal hit.
