Are the All Blacks a dirty team? Fans divided after battle in Dublin

I would actually like to retract an ill informed comment on the Cane 'tackle' I made... I had read that Cane should have been yellowed and thinking it was a shoulder to the head sort of thing, I went along with it without seeing the incident, however now since seeing it, it genuinely looks completely accidental!!!

It was mistimed? I'm not sure, I think it was going to be perfectly timed until Henshaw spun into Cane.

As for the the tackle on Barrett, what was that??? And the arm movement after the try was scored?? The whole thing looked wrong and strange.

Are the all blacks dirty? No, not as much as any other team. They play right up to the line and occasionally beyond, but out right dirty, no...

Will Skelton's yellow card for no-arms charge against Scotland

I don't think it's just as dangerous at all!! How can the two compare??

The law, I don't know, I know you can't slap the ball out a 9's hands, but that's as far as my knowledge goes. I'd guess it's illegal...but not 100%

Italy fully deserving of first ever victory over the Springboks

Oooooooooo controversial!

It's true though that in order to prove a lack of racism, they're actually being racist....

....the thing that gets me is how blatant it is...

Rugby coaches "..uhh, we picked Habana for years, how are we racist?"

Politicians "Habana is not fully black therefore he cannot be counted!"....

It needs grass roots investment and development, that's how you will get better black players being regularly produced! Not by playing a token black team just for the sake of it.... It is also watering down the achievements of black guys who have actually worked to get into the team on their very own high level merits!

New Zealand avenge previous loss with bruising win over Ireland

However with a penalty count 3 times as high and was it 2 or 3 yellows over all? That's quite poor refereeing.

But, with all respect, it's typical of NZ! They find the referees line, and tip toe along it all day long. Other teams find the line and then retreat back a safe 20 metres or so... You have to play to the very edge really.

New Zealand avenge previous loss with bruising win over Ireland

Actually Rabbit most of the media I've read seem to give it a fair assessment.... Ireland could have won had they taken their chances like they did in the previous encounter....

Seems fair enough to me.

As for the high tackle to save a try, I missed that myself, but as moo (these names...) mentioned, it's actually quite rare to see a penalty try and yellow these days...

I wasn't suggesting that 'the AB's cheated and robbed Ireland'... I was suggesting that Jacos refereeing was a little dubious at times, and it certainly didn't help Ireland, however the reality is, was anyone expecting Ireland to really win again? NZ are certainly not unbeatable, but they're the top team for a reason and that's more to do with their management of the game outside of the 80mins game time than it is directly on the pitch!

New Zealand avenge previous loss with bruising win over Ireland

Heard some interesting arguments, the most compelling were "should Cane have been yellow carded? Yes, would it have changed the outcome of the match? Ireland didn't take advantage of the 15-14 men advantage they had for 20 mins if the game, it's not fair to say that they would have in this instance"

"Ireland beat the AB's for the first time in 111 years, it might have been a big ask for them to do it twice in a fort night"

There were questions raised about jaco's refereeing... But I've yet to read into it...

Italy fully deserving of first ever victory over the Springboks

The rugby community only doesn't like the South African rugby because of the big meat eating bruisers that poke eyes and the sort, but the reality is, we love to hate the boks.

Footballers hate teams so much they'd rather they didn't exist... No real rugby fan wants the boks to disappear! They're a scary challenge for any team. I think it's very sad to see them struggling like this. Hopefully it's just an lull in the storm!

Sam Davies helps Wales edge Japan after tight encounter in Cardiff

First and foremost, credit to Japan, they should have won! Incredible play by them.

However, looking at the natural order of rugby, you should have England, Ireland, France and Wales, representing the NH, South Africa New Zealand and Australia representing the SH...any other teams in the globe, minus perhaps Scotland, shouldn't get a peek in.... This is the mindset because it's been the consistent order of the game for years.... So when Japan steps up and overthrows the boks, it's terrifying, but then the boks have struggled and struggled and Wales did pretty well in the 6N, so for them to nearly lose is a big shift.

Main issue is Wales have been found out for their unimaginative predictable play that they have used for years, so to now work out a different plan will be hard.
