The Rebels upset the Blues in Melbourne

I think Cipriani is sort of similar to Cooper. When he's on song he is a fantastic attacking fly-half. However, there still are some defensive question marks around him and there's also the issue of continuity. This season he's been playing great from what I've seen but I'm not convinced that he can make it into an England squad with Farrell playing the way he did during the Six Nations. I agree with what many have pointed out, in that neither Farrell nor Cipriani really offer that much for any other position than fly half, so you'd really have to chose between either Farrell or Cipriani starting. Obviously Cipriani would still make a fantastic replacement for Farrell in case of injury or as an impact player in the last 20 minutes, but I can't see him get too many starts in an England squad.

The Rebels upset the Blues in Melbourne

Generally I don't thnik O'Connor is a poor defender, at least not out on the wing. In Super Rugby, at least what I've seen of him, he hasnt had any serious lapses either in the centre, but obviously the lions (and also the Welsh tests this summer) will be a tougher test. I feel much more comfortable with him defending though than cooper for example ;)

The Rebels upset the Blues in Melbourne

The Rebels have improved their defense a lot compared to last season and the first round. However, it's still a weak point for them. Im not sure how much of that is because they're a new team or if their simply crap ;) Will have to be seen I guess..

A look at the first ever White Card in Super Rugby

There was also a white card given in the Warathas v Reds game after Carter complained about being eye gouged.

I must say Im not sure how useful it really is. Most offenses (especially tip tackles) are picked up by the citing commission anyway so I dont see what the white card will do to add to that, except maybe make it a bit easier for them. I guess we'll have to wait and see how it's used throughout the season..

Matt Giteau steps up as Toulon score late try against Stade Francais

Great Game of rugby.

On a side note, I always find Botha's smile amusing when he's in a scuffle, like he's having the best time of his life ;)

Bradley Davies & Stephen Ferris controversial tackles discussed

Katman, you cannot compare the two at all! One was done by a kiwi, the other not. Clearly, two very different incidents ;)

Wales seal victory with late kick in Six Nations thriller against Ireland

Both players have been cited for the incidents.
I excpect that Davies will get a pretty tough ban (considering Wharburton got a red card and a 3 week ban). Maybe 3-5 weeks I'd think..
I doubt Ferris will get any additional punishment, though I'm not too sure about that one.

The length of the ban will probably be the irb saying how far they agree with the referee's decision.

France start Six Nations campaign with solid win over spirited Italy

Had Clerc been infront of him, it would have been offside.. The knee knock is the same as a kick, thus players in front of the "kickers" are not allowed to touch the ball.

Classic Encounters - Montpellier vs Racing Metro on New Year's Eve

I loved the move immediately preceding the first Metro try. Brilliant how the completely changed direction with two passes, and a beautiful long pass to the winger.. Pity he couldn't run over himself ;)

Last try was very funny/weird/brilliant too

Highlights of the Wallabies win over Wales at the Millennium Stadium

The Momentum was on the Aussies side already before the yellow card, and had Halfpenny not tackled O'Connor he would've been under the posts for a try... Also you could feel the Aussies went of the gas after the sinbin was over because they knew they alreday won the game..
