Rob Simmons escapes on-field punshment for dangerous tackle on Yannick Nyanga

I don't think people are complaining that the Wallabies weren't fast enough or didnt put in an effort. The problems are
1) Injuries to key players
2) Absolutely zero 1st phase attack. Whenever the Aussies were attacking they had 2 options: Pass to McCabe, who ran straight into a defender, or pass to Beale, who ran across half the field without doing anything until he got tackled.
3) Horrible scrum (some are blaming Owens for being a bit too harsh on the Aussies)
4) Robbie Deans (at least that's what everyone outside of the ARU is saying)

Hope they manage to do something about that until sunday.. I really don't want to watch the Aussies lose to the English AGAIN

Like the commentator said "that's just silly stuff".

Very lucky not to get a yellow or even a red during the game, and kinda puzzling that Owens didnt refer to the TMO to see who did the tackle.

I'm expecting at least a 4 week ban. Not really a loss though since he's pretty average and hasnt shown any improvement since his first test. Just a pity that Douglas injured himself during the match and won't be available for England. Wonder who'll play instead of hm and who'll be on the bench since all the available locks seem injured or banned.

Gavin Hastings picks his British & Irish Lions starting XV for 2013

IMO the best 15 the Lions could play are:
15 Kearny
14 Bowe/Cuthbert (Visser)
13 Tuilagi
12 Roberts
11 North
10 Sexton
9 probably most difficult to pick, no real standout. Phillips was outclassed by Genia over summer, so maybe they should try something different. Care? Not really sure who to pick..
8 Denton (huge game against Australia), Heaslip
7 Warburton (if he gets back to his WC form), otherwise Robshaw or Tipuric
6 O'Brien
5 Lydiate
4 Grey
3 Cole
2 Best
1 Healy

If they play that side I think Australia will be in trouble. Should be an interesting series though

Not sure about all your Aussie selection. Barring injury and Robbie Deans I'd pick:
15: O'Connor 14: Mitchell 13: AAC 12: Tapuai 11: Ioane 10: KB /Cooper (if he gets his shit together, and that's a big if) 9: Genia 8: Palu 7: Pocock 6: Hooper (if he can adjust. Think Pocock's a better 7 than him.) Otherwise Higginbotham 5: Timani 4: Horwill 3: Kepu/Palmer 2: Moore (better in lineouts, otherwise equal) 1: Robinson

However, I'm almost certain that Deans is going to pick McCabe since he loves him. So probably AAC will have to move around the backs or Taps gets dropped.

Shane Williams in Japan - Catch up with the Welsh legend

Does this mean that there'll be ANOTHER Shane Williams last game of his career?

Christopher Tolofua cited following red card for tip-tackle against Treviso

This was actually kinda similar to the BOD incident at the Lion's I think, though luckily the outcome isn't as bad, and probably not as intentional.
Definately a yellow, probably even a straight red. Maybe 4 weeks ban due to good record..

Scott Higginbotham cited twice for knee and head-butt on Richie McCaw

Are you saying he should get 6 MATCH BANS in total?

For me it's more like a one-two WEEK ban for the first offense (and that only because it happenend so closely to the second offense) and a 2-3 WEEK ban for the second offense (intentional, though weak, head but, kinda similar to Etzebeth). So in total about 4 weeks seems ok to me.

Actually Higgers got a 4 week ban (2 matches). Etzebeth and Greyling both got 2 weeks (1 match each).
I think 2 matches is about fair, maybe even a bit too harsh in my opinion. It was worse than Etzebeth but I thought what Greyling did was worse than Higginbotham and could have actually caused a concussion or break a jaw or something like that. There was never any danger to McCaw's health during what Higginbotham did.

@remember
On your second point, I didn't see any swinging arm to the face. What I see is McCaw doing the most blatant side entry possible and Cooper clearing him out legally. He then stands over him doing i don't know what. McCaw responds by kicking/push kicking him away.

Also McCaw did the punch/push/wrestle move on Cooper BEFORE Cooper kneed him in the head in the same game.
