O2 Inside Line - Season 4 Episode 1

Lee Dickson over Ben Youngs is, in my eyes, Lancaster's greatest selection error to date. Dickson may be in form but he's playing behind the most dominant pack in the premiership. Youngs, if a little inconsistent, changes games. The same with Danny Care. Both are fantastic scrum halfs who don't deserve the injustice of Dickson being selected over them.

I'm a little sceptical of Tomkins in the centres. I would be far more interested in seeing Daly, Eastmond or Burrell (ideally Daly). I don't really understand how he's leapfrogged them in the pecking order.

Dropping Morgan is also incredibly harsh. He's been nothing short of immense in the few caps he's had and is a rare breed of modern English backrow who looks dangerous with ball in hand. Vunipola is proving to be a very useful player so there is certainly weight to his cause. He had a good season for wasps last year and is looking good for saracens. I just don't really see how you could possibly drop Morgan.

I'm pretty disappointed by some of these selections. Foden must be wondering what on earth he has to do to get back in the team.

Brian O'Driscoll's incredible skill at training - Lions RAW teaser

He's not tarnishing his reputation. He'll always be remembered as a classy guy. Ask your average rugby fan what they think of his comments and they'll look at you with a blank face.

Like I said, it's just a shame that he's had a whiney, toys out the pram type response to someone saying he's not good enough. So uncharacteristic and I wish he and O'Connell hadn't done it.

Brian O'Driscoll's incredible skill at training - Lions RAW teaser

Silly comment. Of course he can be upset about it. Every player in the world gets upset when they're dropped. Publicly stating you resent a coach because he thought another player was better than you is a totally separate matter. The lions tour does not owe O'Driscoll a final send off.

Brian O'Driscoll's incredible skill at training - Lions RAW teaser

Gatland doesn't owe O'Driscoll a final send off to his career. No one is bigger than the team.

Anyone with neutral eyes could see O'Driscoll was not putting in the legendary performances he became so famous for. Davies, on the other hand, was having a fantastic tour. With ball in hand he looked like he could spark something and whether you like it or not the same could not be said of BOD. The former master of the game put in solid performances, but showed nothing to warrant selection over Davies.

Tuilagi was picked on the bench for obvious reasons. As an impact substitute, there are few in the world more explosive than the genetic freak of nature that he is.

It is a shame he and O'Connell have tried to tarnish Gatland's success. The most striking aspect is the stubbornness of those who jumped on the anti-gatland band wagon to back down.

All Blacks claim the Rugby Championship after epic battle with the Springboks

What a player Beauden Barrett is. The tactical nous to run straight though a wall of springboks, and the tenacity to make one of the greatest try saving tackles of all time. Awesome performance.

The same goes to Willie Le Roux. For me he's been South Africa's most exciting player so far in the championship. He may not be as physically imposing as someone like Savea but you still see defences bricking themselves every time he's on the ball.

Flip van der Merwe suspended for one week for dangerous play

It's not just in the interest of maintaining rugby values, from a more selfish point of view it's in the interest of the player not to protest to a referee. A referee has never turned around and said, "yeah you're right, penalty reversed." All that happens is he gets pissed off at the player for whining and is more likely to penalise him again later.

I do, however, sympathise with the Parrisse case, when he genuinely didn't know what he was being sent off for. But that's a different situation.

New Zealand in strong position following bonus point win over Argentina

Totally agree regarding Tuilagi. The "just a battering ram" comment is an easy, go-to criticism which gets churned out every time Tuilagi makes a big hit and ends up on the highlights reel. The same people who are quick to criticise Tuilagi seem less keen when talking about Roberts.

My mistake thought it was just a replay. He's still offside.
