The new European Rugby Champions Cup explained

maybe i'm looking at this from a biased English point of view but I don't think it's too bad. For years you have had teams like Connacht and Treviso in the Hcup that just didn't deserve their place. Yes sometimes they would cause an upset, like Connacht v Toulouse, but for every upset there was about 6 blow outs. The comparison showing the leagues to me I feel that there is a hell of a lot more depth in the prem. In the top 4 positions I would say Leinster win- Northampton50/50 Munster-Ulster- Leicester then from that down most of them are prem wins. Under the last system you could finish 12th in your league and still qualify !!! How is that fair to a team like Wasps who finish 7th in their league ? And the comment about the Scottish clubs doing well in the HCup well they can throw everything at the cup because they qualified by right for it the next year, whereas the French and English teams had to compete on both fronts to trying to get in next year.

Mathieu Bastareaud makes big rib tickling tackle on Matuisela Talebula

I feel he has not progressed at all from his breakthrough season. He can draw in defenders and break some tackles but a lot of the time he just ends up running straight into the guy or throwing a forward pass. Personally I thought that working with Giteau and Wilkinson would have helped his passing and awareness but he just is a one trick pony. If he was to slim down and become more lean then he would be a lot more dynamic and would be an overall better player. Tuilagi is very limited but he atleast is a threat almost everytime he gets the ball.

The Top 5 Rugby Magicians of All Time

Juan Martin Hernandez 'El Mago' should be included. Roko was a fantastic winger but hardly a guy who would create plays from nothing, Cooper is on the list quite rightly as he can do things that other players can only dream of, often goes too far but he is such a talent. In a couple of years Barrett will be up there as the most creative fly half in the world- MARK MY WORDS

Courtney Lawes smashes Owen Farrell with trademark hit

We don't really have an enforcer for my knowledge. He puts in a lot of tackles but so does Launchbury, Wood and Robshaw. The only 'Enforcer' we have would be like Carl Fearns if we decided to play him. We don't really have a Botha or Cudmore

Courtney Lawes smashes Owen Farrell with trademark hit

I think people are forgetting the six nations, especially against wales where Lawes was hitting Robert time and time again, so much that Roberts hardly got on the ball and when he did he just kicked it away. He doesn't just tackle the small guys but the ones where tackles the big guy is not as impressive to put in a highlight video. When you are 6 ft 7 and 118 kg I think you almost always tackling the smaller player. He is an incredible athlete who could get into MOST international teams, South Africa has Etzebeth and ? Bekker ? Du Toit ? he is better than either of those two. Ireland has O'Connell and no-one, he gets into the Ireland team easily.

Marcelo Bosch takes over from Owen Farrell to land huge penalty kick

He has a great boot on him, and if he was in South Africa he would have even more distance on his kicks. His style is beautiful aswell because he doesn't force it, you see some players try kicks from 45-55m and they come well short of what they can normally do because they try their hardest to smack the leather off the ball. This kick must have gone 65m.

Marcelo Bosch takes over from Owen Farrell to land huge penalty kick

Yeah this debate has happened for a while, I think it's fine as it is. How many times do you see teams giving away penalty after penalty because it's only 3 points, you reduce it down too 2 points and you can give away 3 penalties before it becomes a problem. A better way of doing it is either increasing points given too tries or yellow cards given more frequently for repeat infringements.

Heineken Cup 2014 Quarter Final Highlights

Payne was reckless and stupid. That's it really, it is deem as a tackle in the rule book, and he has played a man in the air and put him beyond the horizontal. This is just what is in the rule book not my view. It is a red and as others say it is very easy to pretend that you didn't know the guy was going to be there. If it was an accident Payne might have shown more remorse than to put his hands up saying there is nothing wrong what's the problem. Payne has looked at the ball then down to adjust his run around players, how did he not see Goode running to the ball ? It's an up and under so why did he think that no-one would challenge him ?

Carlin Isles dropped ball blooper ruins great fifteens debut try

'He's got a really unusual style though, hasn't he? I mean apart from the pace, agility and acceleration it's that low body position / centre of gravity that seems to completely throw defences'

It's from his American Football background, they run on their heals and in weird straight lines.
Back onto dropping the ball over the line, Umaga did it and I don't think anyone really cares about that. The best have done it. Just score 20+ tries a year and it don't matter.
