On first viewing I thought this was a complete accident, but having viewed it about 20 times further I am convinced this was intentional. We've all been in the position where someone is holding you down out of the game (in this case even thats questionable) and youve blindly thrown a 'heavy hand' in their general direction, but there is so much force in that stamp that he really meant it - probably not the the face though!! Then classic schoolboy mentality afterwards.... 'oops, lets show Im sorry'...

With the amount of diving and play acting in rugby (especially French Top leagues) I would bet money of Parisse being a touch frustrated at both the playing lying there and at the situation on the whole. Whilst I'm not condoning what he did, I think its pretty clear to see why it happened...

This is ridiculous, the first is slightly worse I'd say but as Gerrard steps just before the tackle Matuu probably just didnt have the time to react.
With regards to his actions after the second tackle I genuinely dont see how anyone can have a bad word to say about it, he's seen the guy is knocked out and put him in the recovery position. Yes it may not have been the best thing to do in hindsight, but he was clearly concerned and simply tried to help a stricken opponent, get a grip people!!!

Downey got all he deserved there, being held back at a scrum is one of the most frustrating things, but if Haskell was being held by his 'special area' then he has every right to belt Downey in my opinion (a slightly biased one as i play back row and hate cowardly holding)
