Sergio Parisse red carded and banned for insulting referee

The official version is that he told the ref to "f**k off"....I find this very unlikely as he's an Argentinian-Italian playing rugby in France, it's far more likely that the referee was mistaken and reacted rashly.
Seeing as he went on to show further ineptitude I find his being mistaken the more likely event.
He didn't say anything that 99% of people in his position would have said, if he was talking to his teammates and the ref comes along and gives him a red card without even explaining himself then I think he was actually quite controlled in his behaviour.
His missing the rest of the six-nations is a joke in my opinion.

Cian Healy banned for three weeks for leg stamp on Dan Cole

...for being clumsy?....slightly naiive I think, but we're all entitled to our opinions.

Is Carlin Isles the world's fastest rugby player?

"Nothing, pace that's it"...what does that say about you at this stage? Been on any RD videos lately?

In any case I don't agree at all, the guys got; good work ethic, timing, intelligent running lines, decent fend, safe hands and a good step....AND he has blistering pace.

In fact he's on the 7's circuit scoring tries against South Africa and New Zealand among others after a couple of months in the game.

Let's give credit where it's due shall we?

I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure he never played american football, he was a track specialist and didn't even go for the combines. As I said though, I might be wrong

Heineken Cup Round 3 - Four of the bigger games

kudos to stoudos, couldn't agree more!
Nice to see Connacht winning, gutted for Leinster, great game though.
We often talk about yellow ruining games, but I can't help thinking that some pro fouls should have been pinged on both sides for killing the ball.

CJ Stander scores 80m try vs Glasgow on home debut for Munster

Just a personal view here, but I don't think I'm alone, I've been living in Italy for 11yrs now. My best friends are here, 11 of my 20 rugby yrs have been played here. I had goosebumps while standing in the Olympic Stadium in Rome listening to the huge hearted Italian rugby fans sing their anthem during the ABs game, but come 6 nations time, there's only one team for me and that's Ireland.
Now, is the difference between me and Botes/McLean/Geldynheys that I have been unable to form an emotional attachment to the country I got married in and had my kids in, or is it the contract that got offered? If I had the talent I believe would never have considered playing for anyone except Ireland, but then again, I never had to choose.
People should play for the country they dreamed of playing for as kids, that's where the Carters and McCaws, O'Driscolls and O'Briens come from, that the extra % that players call on when the body thinks there's nothing left.
I don't want to judge anyone or take a moral high ground, but I think the last reason people play for a country that's not their own is emotional attachment.

Chris Hala'ufia suspended for five weeks after straight red card

I agree with your sentiment on borderline hits, I've taken a few myself.
On this particular incident however, I don't think borderline applies, the initial contact is made below the chest. The force of the impact is understandable, the guy saw a player coming at him at speed and he went to meet him. The way Jewell flew back is more a consequence if his own actions than anything.
The only foul I see here is Jewell jumping into the tackle, which if I'm not wrong is not allowed.
