Cracking hit on Munster's Johne Murphy by Zebre's Quintin Geldenhuys

was at the game, DrG's right, the big man's head was down and he's not one for buying dummies. Great hit, pity about the 2nd half from the Zebre.

Dimitri Yachvili carded for swinging arm on Delon Armitage

Oh please, the game is full of non-whites who don't get criticised, the truth is Yachvili is nowhere near as dirty or unsportsmanlike as Armitage. Just look at the list of videos under the clip....and that's not the half of it!

George North apologises for Genia taunt in first Test, PLUS new Lions shirts

I didn't like when Armitage did it in the Heineken and I didn't like when North did it here, you have to admire however the way he's dealt with the interview and how humbly he was in apologizing, fair play to him.
As for the try...speaks for itself really!

Tongan Eddie Aholelei punches Jebb Sinclair after fight with Canada

Nah man, these are terrible tackles and as you say they are the keep your head down and hope for the best times!
The islanders getting singled out has nothing to do with racism and everything to do about their tackling style, which they are actually quite proud of in most instances. It's always on the limit, spectacular when it comes off well, very dangerous when they get it wrong.
It's time they started putting a bit of margin between dangerous and legal the same as everyone else, and then they'll find they get treated like everyone else. Samoa are making strides without giving up their physicality, Tonga are quite a bit behind for now I reckon.
It's not going to change over night, but the last thing they need is a coach who tries to scapegoat...he should be grateful his 13 stayed on the pitch after kicking everything off in my opinion!

The British and Irish Lions power past the Western Force in Perth

I'd tend to disagree that there's the gap you're implying. Nobody's saying he's as quick as he always was, but you're talking maybe half a sec over 30metres lost. The biggest difference to be seen in the two clips for me is Fodens cover defence against some sloppy Aussie defending in '91.
I'm a huge BoD fan, have met the man and all, but as well as he took that try, he'd be the first to tell you that if he'd been hit with a tackle he'd have been isolated. In the second clip he doesn't pin his ears back, as a more seasoned player he looks for the off load on the inside.

Rene Ranger's massive tackle on the Brumbies' Nic White

To select him on the All-Blacks you'd have to know who to drop, I'm not sure I would to be honest.
Let's be straight, if he was in any other country there'd be no doubt about him playing international rugby, but the all-blacks have the backline pretty much covered.
I'd try Fruen out before Ranger to be honest.

British & Irish Lions squad announcement - Sam Warburton named as captain

I think best's lineout throwing has let him down once too often, although I can't say I like hartley too much myself.
Agree with you on BoD but then again I'm as biased as you are for all the same reasons so fuck it.
M'ON THE LIONS!
