South Africa come back late to defeat Argentina in tournament opener

Don't think Jaguares performance is a fair reflection of Argentina

Hear me out. We know a player's mindset has visible impact on his physical performance, and I believe Argentinian players has a stronger playing mentality when they're representing their countries.

You can tell there's a surge in passion every time the Pumas sing their national anthem pregame.

All Black thump Wallabies in opening Rugby Championship fixture in Sydney

I think it's a combination of All Blacks playing well and Wallabies playing poorly. We'll never know how the English will fare against the All Blacks until the next time they play - which is next year.

As an All Blacks fan, I hope Wallabies sort themselves out and start winning games again. SANZAAR rugby needs healthy competitions where we push each other to greater heights

Fiji brush aside Great Britain to take Gold in first ever Olympic Rugby Sevens

Congrats and well deserved gold for Fiji. Their play against GB in the final was simply artistry against artisanship.

As a rugby fan, this Olympic leaves me ecstatic. As a kiwi however, I can't help but feel gutted

Nick Frisby yellow carded for kicking ball out of tryscorer's hands

Reds haven't shown themselves to be cynical prior to that infringement so it shouldn't be yellow-worthy. Free kick penalty to the Chiefs should suffice.

England pushed all the way in thrilling Wallabies Test but take series 3-0

England has beaten the All Blacks before (last time in 2012 by a record margin as well), didn't translate to any actual achievements in the RWC2015

Let's take a couple of steps further, even if England hypothetically had beaten the All Blacks instead for 3 consecutive matches, and displaced NZ as the no.1 ranked team in the world, it won't disintegrate All Blacks' supremacy in the rugby community. The ABs have tried and tested their quality through years of brutal baptism by the Springboks, the Wallabies, and recently the Pumas.

England's achievements this year do mean something - it means they have turned a new leaf in their history thanks to the money they can throw to acquire Eddie Jones from the Sharks. It means they're off to a impressive start with their new resume. But this climate is nothing they haven't came across before.

For now, the rugby fans will keep watching

Should Waisake Naholo have been yellow carded for taking out Liam Williams?

Viewed in isolation I don't think either should be a yellow card, a penalty will suffice.

However the impression of recklessness I'm getting from Naholo would lead me to yellow card him for the first offence - to try and wean him off this bad behaviour

Sam Whitelock's try was insane.

"My backs, where are my backs?"
"All I see around me are opposition players"
"Hell, I'll do it myself!"
